Familiarity: I've used it several times

I shopped around for 6 mo before pulling the trigger. This had the best fill rating + features for the price. Kelty typically makes your affordable gear, but after comparing this bag to reviews/specs of some of the more premier brands (MH, Marmot, NF, etc.), it was worth a shot.

I've used this bag both spring and fall in N MN, and it's wonderful. Sheds moisture, stays lofty, stays warm. Water repellent material at head and foot are wonderful for those wet edges of your tent, but do cause a bit of a 'muggy' feeling at your feet. -- Minimal, and well worth having dry feet.

I'll be trying this bag this winter -- Stay posted!

Cheers

Familiarity: I've used it several times

This tent is all that and a bag o tater chips. For the price, it can't be beat. Packs fairly light, quick easy setup, built wonderfully. I've used it several times;

1) On My own: dropped to 30 degrees. With fly on, stayed toasty in the tent. No moisture issues. Great gear pockets that are within an arms reach when laying on your back.

2) With The Gal: I'm 6'4",she's 5'8", fit comfortably. Next to each other, but not touching. All gear was outside in the vestibule gear loft (great that there are 2, + 2 doors.) Stayed bone dry.

** On our last trip we went with another couple who purchased a Eureka! tent from BC. Their rain fly hugged their tent, and didn't come down the whole way. We got a little bit of rain in the middle of the night, and had a chilly dewy morning. There stuff was soaked, ours was completely dry -- Even around the edges. It was difficult not to boast about the purchase I had made. Cannot say enough good stuff about this tent.

Lastly, I highly suggest the footprint. Ensures dry sleeping, fits in the same bag as the tent, on offers the option of setting up just the fly on the rare occasion you may have a bug-less night that's not too cold. Saddle up!
