Calvin A.wrote a review of Brooks Cascadia 12 Trail Running Shoe - Men's on July 19, 2018
Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Fit: True to size
I was first turned on to the Brooks Cascadia line with the Cascadia 9s. I loved those shoes and wore my pair far longer than I probably should have. The Cascadia 12 has treated my extremely well as my primary shoe for backpacking in the Sierra Nevada and light trail running in the hills of Marin. As a trail runner these are a bit heavy, but as a backpacking shoe they are fantastic. The tread handles all the surfaces I regularly encounter extremely well and I feel very comfortable in my adventures, even on steep slopes.
I have a high instep and slightly wider than average forefoot. The Cascadia 12 fits my forefoot perfectly but unfortunately bothers me slightly through the instep. The pros of the shoe far outweigh that one con and I will likely buy these again once these wear out.
