Fit: True to size

I have worn Oakley sunglasses my whole life for pretty much any occasion. I've used them for everything from biking, to sports, to fishing. I always thought the regular polarized lenses they had to offer were to great for fly fishing because the polarization takes the glare off the water which allows you to see directly into the water to spot the fish. However, my mind was blown when I tried out their new Prizm Shallow Water Polarized lenses.. It was like a new world. Being polarized they still obviously eliminated the glare off the top of the water like their regular polarized lenses always did, but with adding the Prizm into the picture it adds in a crazy amount of color and detail as well! I was amazed on how well I could see directly into the water on the streams and rivers. On top of all that, the Flak 2.0 XL's are a super awesome frame and lens style as well. They are super sleek and fit your face like a glove, as well as fit awesomely under a hat. Overall, I am extremely impressed with both these Flak 2.0 XL frames as well as the Prizm Shallow Water Polarized lenses that I have in them. I would 100% recommend this lens over any pair of Costa or Smith's when it comes to using them for fishing.

This Petzl Actik Headlamp is really nice. It's crazy how bright it really is once you get out there in the complete darkness with it. 300 lumens is crazy bright for a $45 headlamp! The band on it adjusts nicely to fit your head like a glove, and it even has a whistle built into the adjustment part of the band. I also really enjoy the 3 different brightness settings, as well as the red blinking light setting it has to offer. Overall, super awesome headlamp by Petzl and you can't go wrong with a headlamp with this kind of brightness for this price, i'm extremely satisfied with it!

I really enjoy all of Patagonia's products, but their hats are especially my favorite product in their line. They make such great looking hats, and really target the fishing market with them which I believe helps them to be extremely successful. This hat in-particular sits decently high on your head, so you could say it's a little deep, but it is still a great overall fit. I really like their hats once you break them in though, because as we all know there is nothing better than a perfectly broken in hat.

These Thingamabobber strike indicators are so great. They float so well and are super easy to see. I use mainly the Medium size because I find it to be the perfect all around size for mostly all creeks, streams, and rivers. If your fishing some really small mountain waters though you may want to go with the small (or none at all), and if you're getting into some really big waters you may want to go with the large. Overall though, these Thingamabobber's are so great and effective. I always used to use the yarn indicators because they are a little more stealthy when your dealing with some easily spooked fish, however once I found these I could not go back to the yarn ones. You may spook a few fish here and there with it, but being able to see it perfectly and it keeping your line off the bottom with ease are both a huge advantage to them in my eyes. I do not leave home to head to the stream without them!

I really like this Suppleflex Tippet by RIO. All of their products are 5 star in my opinion, but I think they really got it right with their Suppleflex leaders and tippets. It's not quite as clear as their Fluoroflex series, but it's crazy how much softer it is and because of this, it makes for a much better presentation when casting it. It lays and mends so nice so I specifically like it for throwing dries, but you can most definitely use it for tossing some small nymphs as well. Overall, pair it with a Suppleflex tapered leader by RIO (so you can add some onto it once the leader starts to get short on you) and you got yourself an awesome set up.

This Powerflex Plus leader is easily becoming my favorite all around leader. It works great for pretty much any type of fly fishing because of how durable, clear, and strong it is. Even though it is a blend of both nylon and copolymer (for extra strength) it still offers quite a soft touch when throwing flies and ensuring you have a delicate presentation. Overall, definitely enjoy the extra strength and durability that it offers over mostly all other leaders, while still being a great all around go to leader for whatever style of fly fishing you are looking to tackle.

This Suppleflex Leader by RIO is pretty top notch in my eyes. It's so great for throwing dries because it lays super nice, it gives you a very delicate presentation of your fly, and the dark olive color (with clear tip) really gives you an advantage for those easily spooked fish because it makes it stealthy yet super clear. This leader will also work great for tossing some small nymphs, but overall it is mainly designed for smaller bugs as a whole. It is a very soft nylon material which gives you super smooth line drifts, as well as easy pickups and mends. Would definitely recommend giving it a whirl!

This tippet holder by Rising is awesome. It performs perfectly and keeps all your tippet nice and organized, as well as super handy. It's simple and sleek design works great with just about any pack. I've found that it can hold up to 5 spools of tippet conveniently, once you go for 6 it doesn't really sit all that straight. Overall, awesome little leash that I would recommend.

This TFO SpringBrook Magnetic Net Release is awesome. I've used a magnetic net release for a long time now, but the old one I had started to let me down. The magnets on it started to rust on me and it wasn't as strong as it was when I got it. I then snagged this TFO one and it's crazy how much stronger it is than my old one was (even when it was brand new). Love being able to have my net right on my back and fully accessible when you have one on the hook. Would highly recommend it to anyone who likes to have their net super handy and ready to go in a split second.

This Fluoroflex Tippet by RIO is so great. It is super strong, unbelievably clear, and a must have to tie on to your leader once it starts to get short on you. It has a little more sink to it than a typical monofilament tippet which is the main reason that I love it for nymphing. It is virtually invisible so it's so effective when your dealing with some spooky fish! Overall 5 star tippet that I would 100% recommend, especially if you are going to be throwing some nymph rigs out there. Pair it with a RIO Fluoroflex leader and you'll be all set!

The Umpqua Dream Stream 5in Spring Creek's are a pretty nice pair of hemostats. They perform well and get the job done. They have a strong clamp on them, are very durable, and are nice and sleek to put in or attach onto any pack. Overall they work great for everything you need them for out there on the water. They clamp down on splitshot great, remove hooks nicely, and the bring red top help you to find them more easily if you do lay them down.

This Shimazaki Dry Shake by Umpqua is pretty unbelievable compared to all other dry shakes. I pair it with the Shimazaki Dry Shake Liquid and it's a combo that cannot be beaten. Unfortunately we do not carry the liquid version.. But the liquid dry shake is unreal an keeps your fly afloat for such a long length of time. Once my fly does start to sink a bit is when I then dip it in this Shimazaki Dry Shake because it dries it back out and absorbs most of the water from the fly. Overall, pretty awesome combo to have out there on the water and I never leave home without either of them. Would highly recommend over all other floatants.

This UV buff is great and can be used for just about anything. I use mine mainly for fishing to keep the hot sun off my neck while out there all day on the water. However, it can easily be used for skiing or snowboarding as well. It works great, is very lightweight, and comes in tons of awesome colors. Overall, great do it all sun protectant buff for anything outdoors!

This Ridge sleeping pad by Thermarest does the trick perfectly. I'm not a big fan of air style pads or mattress for the sole fact that I just cannot sleep on them well for some odd reason.. Therefore, this simple sleeping pad by Thermarest worked out great for me! Covers up the rocks or uneven ground nicely for you, rolls up nice so you can attach it to just about any style pack when backpacking, and most importantly it's heat reflecting aluminized surface forces all of your body heat up towards you instead of going down directly into the cold ground. I have used it on a handful of backpacking trips now and it has worked out awesome for me every time! The only thing that could possibly be improved is having it be able to roll up a little smaller, but other than that this simple sleeping pad by Thermarest is perfect in my opinion.

This SealLine dry bag is so great. It is very durable, definitely waterproof, and it does it's job perfectly. All of that for under $15 is pretty remarkable if you ask me! I have two of them in the 10L and fit all of my clothes that I take for a couple day backpacking trip perfectly. Fill them up with clothes, food, your tent, or pretty much anything your looking to keep dry and you're ready to go. Fit great in just about any backpacking style backpack, and perform better than any other expensive dry bag i've ever tried. Would highly recommend!

This Tacky Deluxe Fly Box by Orvis is so great. I love how nice the flies stick into the silicone slots, and especially how the left side of the box is a little deeper than the other. This allows for you to put some bigger flies on the left, I even have a lot of my streamers over on the left side. On top of all that, it is fairly sleek and will fit perfectly in just about any pack of your liking. It stores tons of flies, and the magnetic closure is a really nice added feature. Can't go wrong with this fly box in any way!

This world trout trucker hat by Patagonia is such a great looking hat. I love how the fish is stitched into the hat, and think it gives it a very unique look. It does however sit pretty high (boxy) on your head. I myself wasn't a huge fan of the fit, but that's mainly because I like a more low profile fitting hat. That being said, if you are looking for a great looking trucker hat by Patagonia and are looking for a higher profile style then this is the hat for you!

Darn Tough makes such great socks, and these Merino wool hiking socks by them reflect just that. They are so comfortable to hike in, and are the perfect thickness. The cushioned bottom with the thin top offers maximum comfort while still keeping your foot cool. I have these sock in multiple colors simply because of how great it is for hiking, camping, and backpacking. It's honesty great for just about any activity, and I find myself wearing them just for daily use a lot of the time as well. Also they run very true to size. Such great socks and I would highly recommend getting yourself a pair or two, you won't be disappointed!

These Stretch Zion's by Prana are unbelievable. They are the most comfortable pants i've worn by far, they fit so true to size, and the stretchiness of them is so key. On top of all that they have a DWR finish, so if you are in a light rain the water will run right off of them. So great for just about any type of outdoor activity because they are so lightweight, durable, and also quick drying. I bought one pair to try them out and ended up buying 2 more afterwards in different colors.. There's really no other way to describe these pants than outstanding!
