Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Fit: True to size
If you're looking for a jacket that will shed water completely this is NOT the jacket for you. I purchased this jacket for an upcoming high peak winter hike in the Adirondack mountains. On the first wear, I wore it for 8 hours straight and encountered wet snow for several hours. I noticed the jacket wetting out after a few hours. By the end of the hike I took the jacket off and noticed moisture on the inside. I'm inclined to believe it was a mixture of the external water as well as some sweat. Regardless the whole jacket pretty much wetted out in areas that were exposed (everything but my back). I also followed the DWR instructions and through it in the dryer for 20 mins to activate the DWR as recommended before wearing. I see looking at other reviews that wetting out is a problem with this jacket. On the plus side, it is pretty breathable and packable. It is a thin material. I purchased the seaweed/2 tone color- I thought it was black and green but the black part is actually a darker green. I wear a size Large and the Large sits pretty good. 5'10" 200lbs. It is a looser fitting jacket, plenty of room for layering underneath. Anyway, I purchased the Gear Aid revivex DWR spray and wash so I hope after applying that the waterproofness will improve.
