Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This helmet is really lightweight which is really nice when it in my pack on the way up. It is really easy to adjust and fits snug to my head. I can wear it with a beanie on underneath as well, and it still fits snug on my head. I love the helmet so far and am excited to use it this summer.

This Ice axe is really lightweight, which makes it perfect for long days touring, where you only need it at the final push up to the top of the lines. It is so lightweight that it doesn't make my pack feel heavier when I have it strapped to my pack. It also is a good size for skimo because it doesn't get in the way when I'm not using it.

These skins are super easy to set up with the included skin trimming tool. My old skins had been used for a long time, and I would slip back down the skin trail if it got steeper, which hasn't happened at all since I've been using these. I can also get them off and on pretty quickly which makes the transition from hiking to skiing really smooth. I wish these skins came with a piece of screen to put in between them, for when they are in my pack, but the piece of plastic that they came with doesn't work too bad. I just ended up going and buying a piece of screen to put in between the skins when they aren't on my skis.

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Fit: True to size

This jacket is a perfect to bring touring. On cold mornings I use it as an under layer, and when it starts warming up I take off my warmer ski jacket and just wear the Ventrix. It keeps me warm when I am skinning for long periods at a time, but it doesn't get too hot either. The jacket has enough ventilation to keep me from getting to hot when I'm hiking. I've also taken this jacket out on days where is was a little windy and it felt like I was wearing a wind shell. There is plenty of room for me to layer up if need be and the cuff at the end of the sleeves does a good job at keeping all my layers underneath the jacket. This being said I have had jackets where the that cuff was too tight and was uncomfortable, and that was not the case with the Ventrix. I fell in love with this jacket and started wearing it all the time. It was initially intended for touring but it is so comfortable that I have made it my everyday Jacket.

I just bought another one of these, because they are really handy to take up climbing with me. I mostly use an ATC for repelling, because it's so easy to set up. I used my first ATC while repelling with a pretty small canyoneering rope, and it worked pretty well. I would be a little concerned doing bigger repels with a smaller width rope, because it was a bit hard to hold the rope, but that was expected using a small rope. It works perfectly for toprope belaying, and I would recommend newer climbers to start with this belay device.

I have been climbing for a couple of years now, and this is the second harness I got. It has been such an awesome upgrade from my old harness. It is lightweight and small which is nice when I need to hike a bit farther to get up to some cliffs. It is easy to put away, and stash in my backpack, which has come in handy when I am canyoneering Zion, and have to do some quick repels throughout the canyon.

I got 12 of these quick draws when I was first getting into climbing, and I have been using these quick draws for almost two years now, and they are still in perfect condition. I was climbing multiple times a week using these last summer, and they were perfect for all the climbs I was doing. They are light weight, which makes this getting to the bottom of sport routes easier.

I bought these shoes when I first was getting into climbing, and I am glad I decided to pay a little more, because these shoes have been amazing. I have had them for almost two years, and they are just getting to the end of their life. I have been using them two to four times a week. I probably could've taken better care of them when I first was getting outdoors, because I would just hike around in my climbing shoes. The shoe is Velcro, which makes them easy to get on and off. I like this so I can have a tighter shoe, for standing on really small foot holds, and they are perfect for when I'm in the gym climbing lots of routes really fast.
