Bought another
5 5

Adopted a new buddy and outfitted him with his own pack (green). Pup in the back of the photo has had his about a year now, dragged through and up slot canyons, backpacking and carrying own mat, and holding my wallet, coat, snacks, and flask when out on the town. Both are border/heeled mutts, around 40 - 50 lbs; the small fits perfect.

perfect pack
5 5

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought a size small for my boarder collie mutt (he's on the large side of border collies) and it fits great. Perfect size for him to haul his food and bed mat on a backpacking trip. The pack is also great for town walks when you don't want to carry your own wallet or flask. This pack has been through quite a bit and did well with hauling the pup through some canyoneering problems.

5 5

Familiarity: I've used it several times
Fit: Runs small
Height: 5' 6"
Weight: 155 lbs
Size Purchased: Large

recommend size up if you want to fit a puffy under comfortably. Sleeves are quite long and wide at the end to accommodate gloves, but have velcro so can be adjusted to wear without, though not as clean as I'd like. Hood is excellent and works well with or without helmet and when fully zipped offers near complete coverage of the face without loosing visibility. Coat back is long enough to keep covered when bending. Material is very light and moves well and packs down. I use this as my shell when skiing and plan to use it backpacking any season.

I can't say enough about how much I love these bibs.
-no restrictive waist so no uncomfortable chair rides because you gained some summer or holiday pounds or popping buttons
-all your base layers stay nicely tucked in and no cold drafts
-powder/sleet/ice will not find a way to your but crack (no powder skirt needed)
-suspenders are cool
-and..... most important of all, you do not need to strip down to remove the bibs to pee!!! These are actually easier to "pull down" and expose much less skin to the elements then any standard pant squatting to pee scenario.

Other great features are the waterproofing enough to flail around in the wet snow and repel beer, look great on, fit over ski boots easily (and over my boot heater batteries), room for multiple base layers, great pocket set up (phone and small sunscreen fit in side leg pocket and waist pockets for $$/keys), belt loops for i don't know why other then holding my pass, and super durable.

I found the alpine version of these used and bought them too because I love the style so much. Though bulkier than the alpine version, the powslayers can still be packed down pretty easily, though they do not have full zips on the sides. If you're looking for a slimmer fit and packability (and don't need wide legs to cover ski boots) then I'd suggest the alpine version over these.

Love this coat. I am tempted to buy a second: one to get stinky skiing, backpacking, snowshoeing, camping, etc., and another to wear to work and around town all winter. The jacket is extremely warm, looks great, and fits surprisingly well. My chest size is 34 DD and I am able to wear heavy flannels under it without the puff becoming tight or uncomfortable, or a big pull over fleece under it (feeling a little stuffed). My shell fits over the jacket well for being a warmer puff too.

The fabric is reasonably water and stain resistant. I've put this through a season of gross weather, beer/food spills, and dogs, and it's only looking a bit greasy in the arms at this point (maybe time to wash!)
