Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Fit: True to size
This jacket is tremendous. Picked it up as a cycling jacket last fall, but it quickly also became my go-to fall/spring jacket off the bike. Held up great on the street with a sweatshirt under it into December here in Wisconsin. Probably done 50 commutes with it and a several winter distance rides (at least 30 miles).
On the bike, I was comfortable in it down to temps in the 20s with wind chills around 0 degree F with appropriate layering, of course: this jacket, Pearl Izumi Pro Thermal Jersey, and Under Armour long-sleeve base layer plus a thick balaclava, P.I. Pro lobsters, some P.I. thermal knickers, and P.I. amphib tights. That combo could keep me out and comfortable (even a touch on the sweaty side at the base layer), for at least 90 minutes even with temps below freezing before my feet got tool cold to continue.
It blocks the wind tremendously, and is water-resistant enough that unless you're in a prolonged downpour you should be snug and dry inside. Cut is generous for layering but doesn't leave extra material flapping around. Collar is nice and high to prevent gaps, and zipper pulls are generous and easy when you're heavily gloved.
I picked it up at a discount for $85, and it's the best jacket bargain I've ever found. I love this thing.
