Ok, so this not a backcountry essential. They are however a fantastic addition to your gear cache, and quite frankly whenever you are going out for Sushi. They are always a great conversation piece as well. You will be the envy of everyone sitting around the fire. Functionality wise, they are great, very durable and of course reusable, which is why I take them out to dinner even in town.

Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

So these were a gift for my wife who is an intermediate Snowboarder. She really likes the dual boa situation, she had boots with only boa before. With the dual boa, she is able to adjust how tight very easily in different areas of the boot. They fit true to size, she hasn't needed to add the J bars at this point, heel lift has not been an issue after being worn about 6 times.

Great shovel, makes digging out a base camp in the Uinta Mountains easy. The hoe feature was the reason I bought this, and found it very useful. A "D" handle is must as far as I'm concerned that was a non issue. Only complaint is the length; my other BD shovel is at least six inches longer. if you're over 6 feet tall this might take its toll on your back depending what you'll be using it for primarily.

Fit: True to size

I got this for my mom who lives in Ohio where it often times rains in the winter at 35 degrees, very miserable. She didn't just want a winter jacket that gets wet and than is useless, she wanted something that would keep her dry that she could layer underneath. This shell is fantastic. My whole family swears by Arcteryx. This Jacket has made everything more enjoyable in the wet/cold months, from walking the dog, to hitting the slopes.

first, sizing. I'm 5' 10" and have the 115cm-140cm length. This length is great for what I use it for, snowshoing, splitboard touring, and backpacking. The Flickpro adjuster is very easy to use, even with gloves on. The shorter option would have worked, but sometimes I do extend the pole pretty far if the snow is really deep and soft. I give it four stars due to the fact that it is a little long on my pack when I'm not using it, but I knew that when I got the longer pole. Even the shorter 92 cm length would be longer than I would ideally want on my pack. This is a small sacrifice for a killer pole.

This was a gift for my wife. She is 5'9 about 110 (she would not be happy if she knew I put that in here). The Small was a perfect fit for her. She hates ski/snowboard jackets that look baggy and unflattering. well not only does this bomber shell accomplish that , but it is a very solid shell as well. I am a huge fan of Arcteryx and this does not disappoint. This jacket is no-frills, as with most Arcteryx jackets. But what is has to offer is one of the Industries most durable shells. There are not many shells you can pour water on and stay dry for weeks, this is one of them.

So my wife is very picky about her mitts, so it is very difficult to buy her ones she loves. These have done the trick. It has been a warm winter thus far in Utah, therefore it has been wet in the snowy mountains. Her hands have stayed dry in these, and even when it did dip down into the low 20's she was still warm. she also loves the look. If her hands are happy, than she is happy, and if she is happy, than I'm happy

I wear these for hours at a time, not only has the sound quality been fantastic, but everything else if muffled out. What I've liked best about these is how comfortable they are. After wearing them for six hours at a time, they still do not hurt or put pressure my head. Very solid headphones
