Familiarity: I've used it several times

My brother uses a different version of Crescent Moon for snowshoe running and he swears by this company. When I told him I was buying snowshoes he basically forced me to get a pair of Crescent Moons (I still remember when he told me to get the Atari Lynx instead of the Gameboy, a decision that to this day, I still regret)

But I'm glad I heeded his advice. These snowshoes are absolutely amazing. I personally find them incredibly light, they maintain their grip, and the binding system is top notch and easily accommodates various boots and shoe sizes while still snugly securing your feet. Yesterday, I just used these to head up the steep hills of an abandoned ski resort off Guanella Pass in CO--and they performed amazing well.

I don't know why this brand isn't written about more, as they make a truly great product. I haven't used these extensively as I would like, so I can't attest to their durability--but my brother has put over a thousand miles on his own pair and they're still being used.

Keep it up Crescent Moon!

While this is a great hoody, I would not use it for anything technical. I've more used it for more casual bikerides, hikes, beaches, sundown fall tennis matches, etc. One of those great pieces that you just keep around with you wherever you go and throw on.

The splotch on the back right, is intentional, and a little off-putting, but I've gotten over it, as the fit and comfortability of this hood more than makes up for it. I'm 6'2", 170lbs, with a 39-40" chest and the Medium gives me an athletic fit. My roommate who is about 5'11" 190 fit pretty well into a large, although it was a tad baggy. Also, I would say the material used in this hoody is heavier than what other companies offer. Overall, purchase this on sale, throw it in your car, and use it for everything. But don't pay the full $135.

%he Hoback is a great jacket, with well-thought out functionality and design ideas, at a price point that's hard to match.

Yet, this jacket is wrought with sizing issues, fitting differently than even many products in Cloudveil's own catalog.

This jacket is not made for tall, lean people.I am 6'2" 175. Typically wear Mediums in most companies, including Cloudveil. The Medium in this jacket had the perfect sleeve length, yet was about 2-3 inches too short. The large of this jacket was long enough, yet incredibly bulky in the mid-section. Even the medium was suprisingly bulky in the mid-section--well beyond the notion of providing space for layers.

My friend, who is 5'10 195lbs, fits perfectly into the large. If Cloudveil is listening, I hope they resize these jackets so they have a comparable fit to the rest of their catalog. All Cloudveil products--from the Run Don't Walk Fleece, Vests, Hoody's and Shirts have fit me great in a medium.

If you fit in this jacket, buy it.
