Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Completely agree with Scot M's review. I had the Marmot Exum's for a year and was always balling my fingers to warm them up (I do have Reynaud's so add a grain of salt to this review). I lost one of them last week and almost made the same mistake to buy it again because I like the wrist strap and elastic cinch so much. Instead I will follow Scot's advice and get a pair of Klinco gloves. Much cheaper too.
My baseline comparison for warmth is the marmot expedition mitt, which has the same great wrist strap and cinch. But they are SOO much warmer. That's what down insulation get's you. I knew these Exum's wouldn't be anywhere near as warm, but they didn't get the job done as well as I'd hoped.
As a side-note, I did not have the stitch issues Scot had. It seemed like top-notch construction for me.
