Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have a few hundred miles on this tire and it's been good. I have it mounted as a rear tire and have been happy with it in looser and soft conditions. It grips rocks and roots well even when wet, has consistent braking and a nice stiff sidewall. My biggest complaint is that like the other WTB tires I've used it was a lot tougher to mount tubeless then other tires. But once it's mounted it's been trouble free.

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I put this tire on for a trip to Moab thinking it would work well down there. It mounted up fine, and had a good look, but from the first ride I was disappointed. It lacked traction braking even on slick rock (the grippiest surface ever), it was not durable at all, and the traction got even worse. The final nail in the coffin was riding it at Angel Fire. It lost traction when leaned over and braking, and was super sketchy. I really wanted to like this tire, but I wouldn't run it again, even if it was given to me for free.

When conditions are firm, or rocky you can't beat this tire. I used it all spring and summer from New Mexico to Montana, and it never faltered. The sidewall is incredibly tough, its fast rolling, grips great, and is durable enough to make me happy. It lacks grip in wet clay, and silty conditions, but not enough to change out till you're riding in those conditions for weeks on end.

So far so GREAT

Familiarity: I've used it several times

I got this tire for the fall, and spring riding around the Tetons. I had a few concerns.
1. The sidewall wouldn't hold up or would be too soft and flex/roll. I haven't had any problems yet, but it is too soon to really comment, and to be fair I did get the lighter of the two options to try and counter act the increased rolling resistance.
2. The rolling resistance would be too big to cancel out the extra grip. No one will ever confuse this tire for an XC race tire, its noticeably slower then the DHF I have been running all spring and summer. However it also grips much better in the less then perfect conditions we've had so far.
3. Its listed as a smaller tire then I normally like. No problems with the smaller size when mounted to Stans Flow EX wheel, its has a lot of sidewall, and is wider then I thought it would be.
