Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Took my Copper Spur HV UL3 tent out for the first camp out in very hot tropical conditions (35 degrees centigrade during the day, 20 at night). It is super easy to set up with the colour coded clips. The light weight is a dream to carry and it withstood a heavy downpour during the second night. The large side openings were great for ventilation, catching what little breeze there was during the night. My only issues are :
(1) Because the material is so light, the flaps tend to get caught in the zippers a lot so you need to zip up slowly. Especially as the material is flimsy. I was constantly worried about tearing the fabric. Probably something that I will be even more worried about when my kids join me.
(2) I am very happy that I bought the foot print. It is very easy just to clip on. However, is it also super light and flimsy which I think defeats the whole purpose. I would have been happy to accept a bit more weight in return for a thicker / stronger foot print. You really need to check the ground thoroughly before pitching your tent otherwise there is a high chance that the foot print may get pierced through.
Overall, I am very pleased with the tent despite the two reservations mentioned.
