Wonderful upper design. Comfortable and light. I haven't had any upper degradation with 200 miles on them. As for the Vibram sole, lugs started falling off around 50 miles. The soft rubber is great for mud but crumbles on stone. By 150 miles I had to stop running on the shoes because the lugs that hadn't torn off were causing hot spots. I eventually took a knife to the sole and cut the rest of the lugs off. Hopefully I'll get to 250 miles before retiring these shoes completely. In contrast, the soles on my New Balance Fresh Foam Cruz have lasted 400 miles on the same trails. The Trail Glove is good for walking and soft trails, but not for running mileage in the mountains. I'll buy Merrell again when they dump Vibram.

Familiarity: I've used it several times

I use this pack mostly for backpacking but occasionally use it to carry my climbing gear to the crag. I hiked 30 miles in under 24 hours with a pack weight of just over 20 lbs and it was comfortable the entire way. I use my Therm-a-Rest Z Lite SOL pad as my frame for long hikes. I have done just a few miles with it loaded closer to 45 lbs and still have no complaints about comfort. The adjustments are easy to use and get to, even when you want to make a small change as you walk.

As far as durability I was impressed. A few times the stretch mesh pocket material has snagged and so now has a few small holes, but the cordura nylon looks new still. I was quite surprised that it's almost waterproof. I haven't had the opportunity yet to drag it through a river or a tropical downpour, but I have been in moderate rain a few times and everything inside has stayed dry.

The only thing I think that would make it better would be a side zipper to the main compartment. It's a big pack and when I have to fish at the bottom for gear, I wish there was a way to get at the bottom other than from the top. That's mostly from me not packing with foresight, but it would still be handy.

Overall a good product. I would make the purchases again for sure!

I have used my liner for over a year and a half now. I can sleep in it down to 45 degrees Fahrenheit but I'm a little thick blooded so the reviews saying it's comfortable to 50 degrees are right on. I have used it with my 32 degree bag and got down to 20 degrees cozy as a kitten. The fleece is soft and does well with keeping me comfortable even when I'm sweating in my bag or climb in a little damp for the days precipitation.
I have to admit that I'm one of those weirdos that sleeps in a bag at home. So I have spent somewhere over 400 nights in this liner and still love it. The zipper stop did break recently from over use, but considering the amount of time I have spent rolling around in the bag I'm still impressed.
