Great for scrambling but go a size up
4 5

Familiarity: I've used it several times
Fit: Runs small

I have used these for day hikes in the Red Rock Canyon (RRC) and the Columbia River Gorge (CRG). They worked great for scrambling on the wet and dry sandstone of the RRC’s Calico Tanks and a trek up Turtlehead Peak (in conditions that included a fair amount of rain, and as the elevation increased, blowing snow). In the CRG, I hiked the Indian Point Loop and Wind Mountain trails, among others. The shoes are lightweight, very durable, and will protect your feet in a wide variety of conditions. Other reviews refer to the fact that they are narrow - and they are - even if you go up half a size, as I did. These shoes are outstanding for approach hikes, but I have found the narrow toe box to cause some discomfort on the descents. I own other Vasque shoes/boots, and they all hold up well, but the toe box in this particular shoe is something you will definitely want to consider when making the purchase, and in deciding which the types of outings to make with them.

I bought these shoes for the first time in January of '17, to give me a little extra traction on my wintry morning runs, and I have been overwhelmingly impressed. Since then, I have put just over 600 miles them, and I'm in the process of replacing them with another pair now, even though there is still some good tread left. These are true to fit and very comfortable, and their performance on wet surfaces is simply incredible. I've used them in the snow, ice, rain, and on black top, concrete, and trails of all kinds. I've even used them in runs as long as 13+ miles without the soreness I've encountered with other shoes. There may be lighter shoes on the market, but I prefer the support that these provide. If you want a shoe that can take on any terrain in any weather condition, one that is durable and will last much longer than most shoes in these category, and a shoe that looks tough, consider your search over. I will be a loyal fan and user of this shoe for as long as The North Face makes it.

Revel in the satisfaction gained from a solitary run in the frozen tundra that others won't dare to brave. I just ordered a replacement pair of these crampons after several years of using them for both city and trail running, and they've proven very durable. You may never be able to walk on water, but these bad boys will enable you to run on glare ice like it's dry concrete, and that's pretty cool on it's own.

Despite being thinner than it might look, this top retains heat extraordinarily well and still keep perspiration away from your body. It will be an ideal addition to any cold-weather collection of activewear apparel. I'm 5'11" and 179 pounds and a large fit nicely. If you're any smaller, you might want to consider a medium.

I've put this top through a variety of conditions now, so I thought to offer some additional insights. This is a tremendous cold weather top, and I recently took it through a real test of its capabilities. Where I deer hunt in Wisconsin, I typically have to hike to get to the location where I will sit in my stand during the day. That usually resulted in me getting good and sweaty having to hike in numerous layers and having to suffer in misery the rest of the day. This ColdGear compression shirt worked as designed. It kept the sweat and cold away from my body, and allowed me to sit more comfortably than i ever have before. I have also made this one of the layers I run in on a daily basis, and I couldn't be more pleased with how well it works to keep me warm and dry. The only thing that I recommend is that, because it's a compression top, you go with a size larger than the shirts you might normally wear. In any event, I highly recommend this top, and I firmly believe that UA has cornered the market when it comes to base layer technology and comfort.

These boots are incredible. I own a few pair of Vasque boots, and I've been enormously pleased with their durability, high quality, and comfort. The Snowblime has met my high expectations, and then some. As with any hiking boot, it's probably a good idea to go up a size to account for extra socks and/or swelling, but your feet will thank you. I intend to be a lifetime Vasque customer, if any of their boots ever wear out, that is.

Just tried this top out for the first time on this morning's run and was very pleased with it. In the brisk 34 degree temperatures, the Traverse served as a superb mid-layer between a long sleeve compression top and a TNF Apex Bionic 2 vest. I was very comfortable throughout the run. The shirt has a very nice athletic fit, though I could have probably gone with a large instead of an XL (I'm 5'11" and about 195 pounds). I'm new to Dynafit, but I can definitely see myself buying more of their apparel in the future.

Whether it's for an easy trail, the farmer's market, or a day touring the sights in our nation's Capitol, these will serve you well, and you won't need to wring out your socks or make an appointment with your orthopedist afterwards. Seriously, what more could you ask for? TNF has done it again with this high quality shoe that will fulfill most of your needs.

These are seriously the most impressive and phenomenal shoes that I've ever owned, and I can't imagine hiking without them. I bought mine a half size larger than my normal shoes, and doing so has helped accommodate feet that can get swollen during warm temps or an extra pair of socks in the frozen tundra. ly the most impressive and phenomenal shoes that I've ever owned, and I can't imagine hiking without them. This jacket is lightweight, warm, and works well as either a good jacket to have around camp or as a mid-layer for cold weather activities. I use it as a mid-layer with my Resolve jacket for snowshoeing, and it's an ideal combination, unless the temps dip below zero, in which case I'll turn to other heavier options. I also use it as a mid-layer for deer hunting in Northern Wisconsin. It's true to fit, and it has a lot of utility, so I would highly recommend this to anyone.

A great coat for a variety of uses, and the colors are great as well. I bought the orange for hunting in rainy Wisconsin weather and to avoid being shot by hunters when I'm hiking. He coat is durable and can be paired with many other layer combinations so as to maximize its utility. The only problem is that the fabric collar pulls on your facial hair. That I don't like. At all.

Outstanding stewardship mission, great graphic design, and well-made. Unfortunately, I found it to be uncomfortable and ill-fitting. For example, it has this extra layer sewn into the back collar, and this is the only shirt that actually made me miss a collar tag. Anyway, the company's mission is awesome, and you should probably buy one for that reason alone...but just know that the pride with which you wear it will be an uncomfortable one at that.

It's soft, durable, and not too heavy, so it's more versatile than most out there. Whether you're wearing to hike or camp in the spring or fall, or for a summertime campfire on a cooler summer evening, this is a go-to option that you'll always be glad to have with you. Nixon was a new brand to me, but after buying one, I have purchased two more.
