Familiarity: I've used it several times
Fit: Runs small
These shoes are pretty great! Especially, when it comes to trail running. I wouldn't consider myself a huge runner, but I try to run 3-4 miles about 3-4 times a week. I prefer to run outside; mostly on trails. I also don't do a lot of running in crowded areas. So normally I'm on quiet roads or on the trails.
I get shin splits so I have to be really careful about the shoes I choose to run in. Normally I try to go with a minimal shoe (helps my shins). These provide great support for my feet, and I have yet to have shin issues (knock on wood). My feet are wider than the average person, so Nikes are usually pretty tight on me, but these fit perfectly from a width perspective. I'm always a 10.5, and these are a bit tight on me, but not to the point of discomfort.
I also really like the fact that I don't have to lace them up super tight to get a good hold. A snug lacing usually does the trick. My heels stays in place really well. I can even do a slow job and jump when the shoes are untied. So I've worn these are hikes with lacing them up. It's a pretty light shoe.
The Roclite 295 are awesome shoes, I'm an Innov convert now! I went with the blue and yellow, and really like the color.
