'Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. ' ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
This is our first run with the Infurno and I can’t complain. It has been a hit for both of my boys. It has a simple design which is perfect for our needs. Tough outer layer and soft, warm fleece on the inside. No need for multiple layers which is a hit for active kids. It’s used for everyday winter wear as well as on the slopes. Great having only one coat for multiple uses!
Zipper and snap front, ++. Snaps at the wrists to keep the snow out, +++. Areas for improvement...a zipper on the front pockets instead of snaps. It doesn’t bother the kids, but the mom in me would prefer it. Also, please make a girls version! I couldn’t convince my 6 yr old daughter on the boys color/patterns. Besides that, may be our winter go to over the upcoming years.
This is my first Osprey bag and let’s just say, SOLD! I have been looking for a new day pack for quite some time. I needed a day pack that could hold, well...the kitchen sink. I am an over preparer and have three kids. Regardless that they all have their own packs, I still end up carrying some of their stuff. The Manta has almost 2100 cu in. Plenty of room for the extras. Plus, many pockets. I like having a designated spot for certain gear and gadgets. I first looked at the womens versions and I couldn’t find the perfect fit. It kept riding up on me anytime I had to bend. I am 5’ 10” so I switched to the mens sm/med and it fit perfectly. The anti-gravity system keeps the load light. The waistband keeps things in check and ventilation/padding has not given me any hot spots. Could not be happier and so glad I held out for the right choice.
We absolutely love our Patagonia trucker hats. Whether it is for the beach, hiking, running or everyday use, you can't beat them! So cute...just wished it fit her mom's noggin.
I am new to Basin and Range, and I am impressed! The Evergreen jacket clearly has met my expectations. It is perfect for every day wear. The stitching is very flattering as I have gotten many compliments and quite honestly you really can't say down jackets are flattering. My favorite features are the cuffs. They are literally sweater cuffs. Perfect for keeping the cold air out. The front two pockets could be a little lower on the hips yet I have gotten used to them now. The length is just above my knee and I am 5'10". The color says black but is more like a dark charcoal. I actually like the color better this way. It does run large as I ordered a large originally. (I wear medium clothes and size up in winter jackets to layer). However, I had to exchange it for my normal size medium and I still have room for a bulky sweater. I gave it only four stars since I probably would not wear this below 25 degrees which we often get in New England. But on those sunny 30ish days, this is my new go to.
I absolutely love this hat! The fit is perfect! The color goes with everything. Trendy yet classic. I was hesitant with purchasing online since I did not want to brim to be too floppy, however it has the right amount of stiffness and floppiness combined.
These were to replace my Peregrine 5 which I love, love, loved!! Unfortunately, these are not quite like the 5's. The toe box is wider. The treads on the sole are a little thicker too. After my first few runs, my feet hurt. Maybe they just needed to be broken in.....because now they feel fine. Overall though quality is great, cool colors and fun laces.
My hubby got this over Christmas to replace an old and quite smelly Camelbak. Finally the weather has broken and he has been able to use it a handful of times. He loves it as a day pack. Ample bladder size for long day hikes. Plenty of pockets to hold his gear and extra gear for our kiddos. Only giving it a four star since it is new to him. Hoping it will hold the course of time as all our other Camelbaks have.
The Glacial II fleece was a gift to my daughter and she has had no complaints. A light weight 1/2 zip fleece perfect for layering or on its own with this transitional weather we have had recently in New England. No pilling after multiple washes. She is a tall 4yr old wearing a size XS (6-7). It fits her perfectly. My advice would be to order up on size since my experience with kids Columbia clothing tends to run small. Mom's happy with the fleece and she's happy she gets to show it off!
I absolutely can not say enough about the Nano Puff Jacket! I have worn out this baby three seasons of the year. It's wonderful on its own for spring and fall temperatures. I use it too under my ski shell. I wear a base layer, the Nano, and a the shell and I am perfectly warm. I like the drawstring at the waist to keep the draft out too. Two zipper pockets on the outside One on the inside. The inside pocket doubles as a stuff sack to pack your jacket in. It ends up packing to about the size of a small paperback book. The fit is slimming yet still allows me a medium weight layer underneath if I so choose. I bought it in a large even though I generally wear mediums. I sized up for the length which is what I need. (I am 5'10"). The Nano I have has contrast stitching and zippers which adds a fun flair. I am such a fan I have even bought it In the childrens version for my boys. Patagonia quality and function, no doubt!
What little girl doesn't like pink? Add some chevron too!?! Wonderful! The Benton Spring II is the jacket she grabs as we head out. It's perfect for temperatures 40-50 degrees. It's a nice, thick, quality fleece. It has a heavy weight zipper that a 4 year old could tackle. This was a gift and so glad this fell into our hands!
I have really enjoyed the Lole Madeline top! The fabric is slightly stretchy, holds it's shape and doesn't cling. It's the perfect transitional piece. I have worn it to yoga class as well as with jeans. I am 5'10" and wear a medium. It is a little on the shorter side that I wear my tops but I do tend to have this problem with needing the length of a large but body size of a medium. One of my first Lole purchases and I will be back again!
After years of begging my husband to buy a new ski jacket for himself, he did and chose a winner! He loves his Dragon's Back jacket! He says roomy and warm. Has kept the wind out. Loves all the pockets it has, inside and out. And was psyched there was an attached goggle lense cleaning pad. Has worn it a few times. The true test will be after the "guy's weekend" skiing and all the ski antics involved...
Over 2,000 miles away and we pick the same jacket!?! My cousin raved about how it kept her warm and she is always cold! Two thumbs up Mountain Hardwear!
I had been looking for a new ski jacket for some time. Loved the colors and stripes the Barnsie offered. Now would it hold up to New England cold winters? Well...our winter has been absent so headed out for some Colorado skiing to check it out. By far, impressed!Kept the snow out with its snow skirt. Enough insulation to keep me warm yet not bulk up. The hood is extra large which is perfect over a ski helmet in windy conditions. Pit vents for a warmer day. And of course it has a nifty little ski goggle lense wipe hooked on the inside as a bonus for when your googles get wet or steamy. I am 5'10", 154. I am usually a M in clothes and L in jackets. I ordered an XL which was a huge mistake. The length is great on me but I do have lots of room through the chest and waist. I tend to layer up and hate to be constricted which is why I sized up, yet should have stuck with my regular size since its just too big. Mountain Hardware quality as usual!
We own a bunch of Neff Daily beanies. Everyone in the house has them. Great variety of colors, super soft and versital for athletic or everyday wear!
