Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
The cot is compact (fills quarter of suitcase/checked bag) and is small enough to bring as a carry-on. It is comfortable with the air mattress. We used it for many overnight trips (Nepal, SE Asia, Australia, US, Africa) and it was great when the hotel 'crib' is dingy, unsafe, and tetanus-ridden. We also used it to allow naps during full days at the beach or outdoors (with a blanket/towel to shade it and sometimes a mosquito net). My daughter used it for 3 months straight while travelling and waiting for furniture.
Legs get scuffed, but hold very steady. The child can pull and lean on the edges without fear of collapse. The mesh has held up very well with only minor snags and small enough to keep out mosquitoes. I wish we would have had one for our older child--we used it so much and were grateful for every time we decided to bring it somewhere.
