Ana Stamenkovic's Bio

Growing up as a "tomboy" during my childhood, I always gravitated towards being outside and in the dirt. 20 years later, I find myself in Salt Lake City, Utah. Living in a place with such a large amount of accessible canyons and mountain ranges has skyrocketed my passion for climbing and hiking. I'm also here to learn how to ski! And I am super eager to get started.

On my active rest days when I am not climbing or hiking, I practice yoga and sometimes do pilates to train for climbing.

I'm also a bookworm and a doodler - if I'm not doing anything climbing or yoga related, I usually have my nose in a book, whether it contains text or blank space for sketching.

Classy AF

Believe it or not, it does rain in Utah. We've had a wet spell the last few weeks and I'm so glad I have these boots to keep my feet dry and comfortable! The shortie style is sleek and plays up what would otherwise just be a clunky rainboot. These look good with everything and they're my go-to boot for when the weather turns wet.

Can't Get Enough

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

My boyfriend has 3 of these shirts and wears them for every sport we do outside in the sun. Climbing, skiing, hiking, mountain biking, whatever you want! The Polygiene coating prevents odor causing bacteria from sticking to the material of the shirt, so you can wear this for a few days at a time without a wash and not get super stinky. The UV protection is bullet-proof, and the hood adds another layer of protection to your neck.

Here's a picture of my boyfriend wearing it during a day of rock climbing in the sun! ( I am wearing the Black Diamond Alpenglow Hoody, another UPF shirt)

Loungin' in the Sun

I like this top - I didn't experience any of the issues mentioned in previous reviews, and I plan on keeping it. The cut and striped pattern is super cute and I don't find it to be sheer. This top does not offer any support, but it is a basic bikini top meant for lounging and casual swimming. If you want something for active use, this is not the top for you. I would also agree with previous comments and say that if you have a larger chest, this top may not be the most comfortable for you.

The only issue I've had is with the straps - they are kind of loose and can fall down my shoudlers, but I also have small shoulders and a generally small frame so this is an issue I have often. I wear a 32C and purchased this in a size Small. This is a low coverage top so while the straps may have fit better in XS, it would not have fit me in the chest.

I received these as a gift and initially, I wasn't super impressed. They look like fairly basic soft shorts and I didn't expect to be wearing them for more than "around the house" or yoga, but then I put them on and wow I love these! The band is actually high waist and figure flattering (especially for us shorter ladies). I LOVE the sky blue color so much - it brightens up the wardrobe and adds a pop of color to your outfit. The thickness is just right so you don't get bad panty lines (I would still recommend a seamless panty for these) or too hot. The waist band doesn't roll when you bend over, so they are great for working out too.

I'll definitely be wearing these all summer!

This bra is life changing. Seriously...buy this bra. Not only is it made from recycled polyester and rPET (recycled plastic bottles) but the support it has is amazing. It also fits well - I have small shoulders with a 32C cup so a lot of times I have trouble with bra straps falling off my shoulders. The straps on this bra are relaxed without being loose, while the band and chest region remain tight, sexy, and supportive.

The "petite" version of the Paloma bra is more cropped than the regular Paloma bra, otherwise they fit the same. I already have two! I like to wear the regular Paloma bra as a crop top with high waist shorts and a cardigan. So cute!

This hat has withstood being crushed in duffel bags, high velocity winds (thank you adjustable cord), sand storms, 5 day backpacking trips, and being submerged in rivers all without losing its shape or structure. It runs on the large and warm side but I still love wearing this hat.

This is a picture of my boyfriend and I backpacking in the Uinta Wilderness for 4 days. I think we were on day 3 here and sitting front seat of the struggle bus. But we still cute.

Go-To-Adventure Pant!

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Fit: Runs large
Height: 5' 2"
Weight: 102 lbs
Size Purchased: 0 Short

PrAna hit the nail on the head with these pants - whether its climbing, hiking, yoga, or a casual day, the Halle convertible does it all. The material does two things that are crucial: 1) It's pretty damn warm and wind resistant, and 2) it is water resistant. The Zion blend really kills it in the warmth department, while still keeping it breathable if you're doing something active. The convertible feature is awesome if you're someone who, like me, is either always cold or suffers from random hot flashes. You can roll the pants up to the knee to get the exposed zipper out of the way for a neater shorts look, and the removed bottom legs are easy to pack. This feature is the most convenient for long approaches to the crag or campsite during the day, and when the sun goes down the detachable legs are simple and easy to put back on for warmth and mosquito coverage.

Another great feature is the relaxed fit and stretch of the Zion material -- it allows for a lot of movement if you're doing something active, and fits almost like a sweatpant. The only thing I wasn't stoked on was how large they fit as well as the adjustable drawstring. It's a smart feature, but I don't think it's executed very well. If you tie it too tight, the waist button sticks out harshly and leaves a gap between the pant and your waist.

Otherwise, one of the best and most durable pants ever.

This is the glass slipper of all performance shoes. It's got the perfect amount of stiffness for edging (especially on outdoor climbs), and enough softness for smearing. The downturn gives you just enough reach for those steeper climbs, but not so aggressive that you are ripping them off your feet after every boulder problem (however I do not recommend belaying in these, they're not THAT comfy).

The shape of these shoes fits my feet like no other, and I find myself always coming back to the Miuras. I actually just ordered a second pair and am also resoling my original lace up model that first made me fall in love with the shoe. It's seriously such an amazing all-around climbing shoe!

In my experience, La Sportiva's footwear tends to benefit those with lower volume feet and have a more narrow fit.

*Sizing: My street shoe is between a USW 6.0-7.0. I have a pair of trad shoes (Butora) in a Unisex size 7, and I wear the Miura in a size USW 6.0. The size 6.0 is PERFECT - it matches the shape and downturn of the shoe and provides more than enough toe curl for most climbing*

**Just my two cents on climbing shoe sizing** - there is no reason to size down more than 0.5-1.0 full size from your street shoe, especially if you are wearing flat shoes. You can't really get a "performance fit" in a flat shoe, as they are meant for comfort in long-term use. For example in a shoe such as the 5.10 Moccasym, the toes should lie totally flat and brush the front of the shoe. If you want a more aggressive fit, get a more aggressive shoe! It's that simple. Sizing your climbing shoes too small can result in chronic foot pain, deformations, or injuries.

Be smart about your shoes, and be good to your feet!

I was initially really excited about this romper. It looks great on the model. However it is not attractive in person and I was pretty disappointed with it. The material is super heavy, and it seems like there is an excess of it around the waist. The elastic waistband is also not designed in a way to make it flattering, rather it's just "there" to scrunch the fabric together. The idea is there, but I ended up returning this without trying it on.

Sizing: Runs large/bulky

I really enjoy this for the nutritional benefits it provides - I drink it after a workout and sometimes for breakfast! So far I've only tried two flavors: chocolate and berry. The chocolate flavor was okay - it is not sweetened so if you want something less plain I suggest agave or honey! The berry flavor on the other hand was terrible - spare yourself the struggle of making yourself drink it every day until it's gone and you can justify buying any other flavor.

I bought these as a gift, and here's the feedback I received:

These are a good option if you are looking to upgrade rotor size. Just make sure you get the right brake adapter! I’ve used the ice-tech version of these and don’t notice any performance difference so I went back to buying the cheaper ones. I primarily use resin style brake pads and never have an issue with squealing.

I like this cami a lot more than I thought I would - it's actually very supportive and it forms to your body in the most flattering way. I already have 2! One in black and one in white. I love wearing this under button-up shirts, flannels, or a denmi jacket paired with some sleek black pants to complete a classy outfit.

This sweater is great because you can dress it up or down, and its super comfortable! I get compliments whenever I wear this. The Tencel and wool blend is great for temperature regulation, as well as keeping it lightweight. I love pairing this with a pair of leggings, ankle boots, and a large flannel!

It is pretty sheer, so if that's not your thing I would recommend wearing this with a lightweight camisole underneath.

Fit: I would say it runs just a hair long, but I dig the oversized look.
