Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Son going into Junior Year HS and taking offsite college courses so needed new backpack for computer, books, notebooks and supplies, lunch and jacket. Perfect size to hold everything and carry comfortably and protect his laptop computer. He said this is his best backpack to date.

Sturdy construction with water tight seals and Zerust inserts to help protect flies. Various configurations to allow you to carry a day or two's supply of a selection of flies for a specific watershed from Midges to nymphs to dry flies to terrestrials to smaller sized streamers. Clear lid helps determine what side of the fly box to open.

The snap holder that allows it to be attached to a D-ring makes for easy access to the glass wipe to remove water spots and finger marks on your specs and and the cover keeps the cloth dry in inclimate weather so that it does not get the towel soaked. The cloth is soft and smooth and adequate size and does not appear to scratch my fishing sunglasses and is comparable to other glass cleaning towels. Convenience and easy access is the best factor of this item and I will purchase more to hang from back packs and various fishing vests / sling packs I have.

Enough space for a week long trip to the Green River fits everything from midges, nymphs, dries, terrestrials to moderate size streamers. Clear lid helps finding flue before opening since it is two sides. The Zerust is nice to to have as added protection if moisture happens to get into box which is almost every trip especially in the rain and snow although you should always dry out the box at end of day when you get indoors anyway by opening up both sides to make sure the flies are dry and never put used flies back into box without being 100% dry. The watertight seals is nice to have just in case you happen to take a dunking. The only negative is the weight of the box due to the rugged construction/plastic used in it's construction or this can be a positive because the fly box is so robust. I would not take these on an extended backpacking trip due to the weight and would opt for a lighter option. I have four of these to be used specifically for the different waters/locations I fish so I can grab and go and know that I have a good selection of flies that will work.

These Umpqua boxes are the best designed boxes to date I have found for flies. Maximum space with the lowest profile possible for the type of fly box you plan to use midges or dry flies. Wheatley's and CF designs are nice but they are not transparent, water tight or do not have the zerust to help prevent rust to your hooks if you accidentally get water in your box.
