I've been wanting a Gore-Tex jacket for awhile, after having a few winter days last season that forced me into the lodge because I was soaked to the bone! I love this Patagonia shell for three reasons, 1) the fit is great -- just tailored enough to not look overly baggy. 2) So many awesome and awesomely placed pockets! 3) Gore-Tex -- when the weather gets tough, this jacket is tougher.

I usually wear a XS or small in Patagonia -- I have a XS nanopuff -- and I bought this in a small. It's a little loose, which is ideal for layering purposes.

If you're looking for a pack to get you into the backcountry, but already spent all your funds on your touring setup, check out the Dakine Heli Pro 20L! It has all the essentials -- room for your avy gear, layers, and snacks. I gave 3 stars because I think the pack would be perfect if it was offered in a women-specific fit AND had at least one hip or shoulder strap pocket for easy access to phone, sunglasses, or slopemeter.

For cold weather, don't settle for the Original -- go Polar. The fleece is super soft and feels cozy against your face during the harshest of elements. I love my Original buff for spring skiing, hiking, and fishing, but during the winter, I *need* that extra layer to block those bitter winds. A must have for any winter sports enthusiast.

I really like the look of these -- a more feminine take on a classic. I wanted these for work, since I'm on my feet a lot (and the sneaker-esque sole looked comfy) and sometimes have to walk around the snow while on the clock! However, my feet are on the wider-side of average, and these are just way too narrow. It wasn't necessarily uncomfortable -- and I'm sure the leather stretches a little -- but how narrow my foot looked didn't appeal to me.

I tried these out because of the advertised "sleek look" and "skinny fit" -- and I'm constantly looking for the perfect skinny ski pants (I like my pants TIGHT). I am usually a size small in ski pants, but these were too big all around. The waist didn't fit, even when I pulled the adjustable tabs tight, and the legs were very baggy! However, the materials were high-quality and the pant was comfortable -- just not the skinny fit I wanted. If you're looking for a pant that is slimmer than the average, but not tight, this is a great option!

I've always heard amazing things about Hestra gloves, so I decided that this would be the season I get a pair... And wow, these did not disappoint. I've only used them during the first snowfalls of the season, down to 15 degrees F, but they kept my hands the perfect temp, as well as dry. I really like the Neoprene cuff -- it's really comfortable even when wrapped tightly, easy to remove with your other gloved hand, and slides right into your jacket sleeve. These are unisex sizing, so I got a size 6 (I have, what I would say are on the smaller end of an average woman's hand).

Because of their skinny-ness, I intially ordered a size medium at the end of last season but the waist was way too big (I am 26" waist). I returned them and forgot all about skiing as I succumbed to spring and summer activities.

Flash forward to *this* winter and I'm on the hunt for the perfect skinny ski pants again... I decided to give these another chance, this time in a size small -- way better! I do wish the rise was a little higher, it's pretty low like the jeans I wore in high school, but my long jacket makes up for it.

They are softshell, so I was hesitant about how well they would hold up for a day romping in the pow. I took them on a little test run, boot packing in the Wasatch following a storm and I skied back to the car, both warm and dry! Not to mention, they were stretchy and I felt totally unrestricted moving around in them, despite how "confined" they look while on.

They might not be the pant I turn to on those bitter subzero days, but if you're looking for a ski/snowboard pant that is both stylish and functional, this is it!

In past seasons, the Saint was a "relaxed fit" so I sized down and got an XS -- I'm short, so finding jackets that fit my arms and chest is hard! I'm usually an XS or S, but I could barely even tug this jacket on over just a t-shirt! No bueno for layering. However, the materials seem awesome and I like the overall style of the jacket -- I'm returning for a medium and hoping it works out!

***UPDATE***
I ordered this jacket in a MEDIUM, and it's as close to perfect as ski jackets get for me, in terms of sizing -- as someone who has size XS arms and size S body. The medium lets me layer but I do have to unzip the sides to take it off without a struggle. It is a thinner fabric, no insulation, so more like a beginning and end of season jacket. I highly recommend sizing up in this jacket if you plan on wearing anything underneath!

I tried out this jacket on a blustery winter day, and boy, is it burly! When it comes to snow, sleet, hail, or wind, the Skyward is bombproof. I'm usually one to avoid the backcountry when the weather isn't clear and sunny, but the Skyward might be the jacket that gets me out there even when the sun is hiding.

If you're looking for a multipurpose fleece, consider the Shiftup. It's light and stretchy enough for a run. It's warm enough for early morning hikes. It's cute enough for meeting up with friends for lunch. It's soft enough for curling up on the sofa and binge-watching Netflix. I usually wear a XS or S in Outdoor Research but got the Shiftup in a medium, because I like my pullovers to be a bit loose.

For years, I was extremely anti-convertible pant, but when I needed to streamline the clothing I was bringing on a multi-day backpacking trip, the Ferrosi converted me to the convertible life. The nylon fabric is comfy, yet breathable and high-activity approved. But what really sold me is the cut -- they aren't baggy like most of the convertible pants I have tried on, but they flare out enough on the bottom to fit over a variety of boots. I usually rock these when the weather is unpredictable or during spring/fall when you have cooler mornings and warmer days. I wear a 26 in jeans and went with a size 4 for these. I have short legs, so I do have to roll them up a bit to accommodate that.

I am a sucker for anything that is cozy enough to trick me into thinking I wore pajamas to work, but stylish enough to trick people into thinking I put effort into getting dressed that morning... So of course, I had to get the Mikala shirt! I went with a size small, and it's just loose enough to give that relaxed vibe and looks great with leggings.

This may be my favorite OR piece I own or have used! I bought it after my buddy -- the most avid backcountry skier I know -- recommended it. The stretch fabric and insulation combo keeps your temperature at ideal levels, because everyone knows it sucks to disrupt your momentum with constant shedding/layering clothes to avoid sweating/freezing. While I bought this specifically for touring, I have found myself wearing the Deviator on other adventures too -- it's perfect for hiking, trail running, or walking the dog on chilly autumn mornings. This jacket is cut slim, and I normally wear a XS or S in Outdoor Research, and went with the small. I could have been comfortable in a medium as well, but I prefer my insulators to be more fitted.

Don't let this jacket's light weight and compact-ability fool you -- the Aspire is rugged! With a Gore-tex membrane and fully-taped seams, this piece can handle the gnarliest of storms. I like to keep it stashed away in my pack for when the weather gets suddenly hairy, and it also works as a great outer layer for backcountry skiing (or stowed away for an additional layer if it gets a bit chillier than expected). As other reviews mention, the Aspire has a generous fit. I am usually a XS or S in Outdoor Research and went with a XS -- which boasts some room for layering with the OR Deviator Insulated Jacket and a baselayer.

I'm obsessed with base layers that I can wear both on and off the mountain. This Burton henley is not only cute, but is super warm too! I was shocked at how soft it was, and the elbow pads are a great touch. I usually wear XS/S in clothes, but got a medium in this and it still fit pretty snug; I definitely could not have fit in my usual sizes.

This hoodie is perfect for layering over base layers on the mountain, as well as for going out for beers afterwards. It's longer, so it pairs well with leggings but needs to be folded up with snow pants. I usually wear a small or extra small, but got a medium in this for layering and because I like roomy hoodies. The arms were a little long, but the body fit perfect -- loose but not baggy. I'd say this runs true to size, but if you order your correct size, the body will be a slim, close-to-body fit. By the way, the "drawstrings" are black not white.

I live in leggings and am always on the hunt for the perfect pair. Prana got it right with the Roxanne leggings -- they are super lightweight, keeps you tucked in but doesn't restrict mobility, and they look/feel great. I wear XS/S in most leggings and went for a XS.

As a newbie to the touring scene, I wanted an AT binding that would let me continue charging the hills in-bounds, but also let me explore the backcountry when the resort got boring. These do just that! These frame bindings are a heavier option in the world of AT bindings, but I paired them with a lighter ski and haven't been bothered by the weight. If you're someone who primarily skis in-bounds, but wants the option of touring, look no further than the Barons!

I was never a "beanie person," until I found the Coal Uniform beanie! It's the ideal middle ground between fitted and slouchy, and the roll-up cuff can be adjusted (folded higher or lower) to fit your preferred style of beanie -- also handy for fitting it under a helmet if you're like me and not a fan of liners. The Coal Uniform is a must-have for anyone living the slopes to streets lifestyle. Plus, it comes in the best colors! I'm embarrassed to say how many I own...

I gifted this jacket and the receiver loves it! She is usually a size 6 and chose a medium, which fit perfectly. The jacket is a relaxed fit but isn't boxy or "sloppy." It's medium weight, making it a great jacket for fall or spring, or as a mid-layer under coats in the winter. The materials are high-quality (no annoying pilling!) and overall, the jacket is well-made and a warm addition to the closet!
