So I got this as a gift. I usually use an Exped UL L air pillow. Yes this pillow is bigger than the Exped when packed. But for packing in its about the size of a Monster can. Going to a non air pillow was a little different but I didn’t find myself wanting to adjust the air pressure at 3am. I used it in my Eno double nest and it was plenty comfortable. I haven’t slept on my airpad with it yet. If I was going to have a base camp or truck camp with my cot I would probably use a real pillow but for packing in for a a few days it was a nice change from air pillows.

Familiarity: I've used it several times

This bag is a great upgrade from my camelback mule. Not that the mule was a bad bag just doesn't have all of the features this bag has. The small details are what makes this a great bag such as the tool pouch section, security clips on the zippers and a magnet on the spout. This bag also has two pouches on the waist strap that let you get to snacks and a camera without taking off the pack. The only downside that I had with this bag is that when you bend over or set the bag down the mouth piece does not take very much pressure to allow the water to come out. After finding this out I just made a point to lock it when I set it down and problem solved.

I bought this because the cut was a lot like my North Face Apex jacket. The apex jacket is great but it didn't stop the wind or do very much to insulate. This jacket blocks the wind and had kept my dry when I have been caught in light rain. Only down side to the jacket is that you might have to go one size larger depending how you want the jacket to fit.

Bought this bag for Trail running on the Appalachian Trail and short two day trips overnight. I wanted a bag that I could run with and carry my camera gear up to the views on the trail that wouldn't beat the crap out of me and my gear. This bag sinches up all of your gear and on you amazingly. I put this bag through the ringer for the month I was out running different sections of the trail. This bag was covered in sweat, rained on, tied to a tree, thrown over tree limbs, stuffed full of and had gear tied all over it and I just threw it in the shower and it looks brand new. Next trip will be a mountain bike treck through the desert but I fell this bag will do just fine.

Mid temp bag

Got this bag to take on my trip since temps drop lower than my nanowave 55 is designed for. I was a little hesitant since I could not find an average packed size for this bag but with the provided compression sack it get pretty compact. Bag is Ollie and Milo approved. Ollie is not pictured since he crawled inside and curled up.

Alps Cot

Ok got this with a lot of hesitation because the reviews were either love it or hate it. The reviews had me wondering if putting this together by headlamp was going to be an issue. I decided to try to put it together without the instructions took about 5 minutes including unboxing. If you have every put together a pole tent then you can manage this no problem. Works on the same concept as apply pressure put the support in the hole and the tension keeps it there. I haven't slept on it yet but seems comfy so far. It's kinda like a springy hammock. Would buy again at this point love the super fast shipping and customer support. Gets the Ollie seal of approvalIf you wait till it's together it will cost more because the rotors will need replacing and there will be labor costs. .
