If you ever see me walking about SLC or the Wasatch, chances are I am wearing a pair of Strech Zions. After wearing a pair of my dad's hand-me-down stretch zion pants for a couple years, I picked up another pair as well as one of the winter versions. After falling even deeper in love with the Stretch Zion line, I decided Alex of the future will greatly appreciate a pair of Stretch Zion shorts come spring and summer.
I am psyched to wear these puppies on hikes through the Wasatch or or walks to the grocery store. They shoudnt dissapoint!

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Since I started climbing, I had yet to purchase a real rope tarp. I had been laying my rope on my 70L backpack to keep the rope clean, but I failed miserably. Needless to say, my old rope is super dirty now, and I wasnt going to repeat that mistake again with my new rope. Since then I have been using the Trango Cord Trapper to keep my precious rope clean, and I now trust my rope even more now.

On first look at these cams, one might scratch their head in confusion at the stemless design, the direct loading lobes, and the double sling. I was a bit stunned myself, but after picking up a few and testing them out, I find myself placing these bad boys before any other gear on my rack. I find myself placing them over my C4s in horizontal trending cracks due to their flexible "stem", as they tend to walk less and can bend over curved ledges better. The direct loading cam technology is also a plus, as it is even more confidence inspiring. I have yet to use them in two lobe aid placements, but I am excited to test them out.
Bottom line: These cams are quite versatile and unlike anything else on the market. Go ahead pull the trigger if you are even just thinking about these cams, you wont be disappointed.

After many hard catches and uncomfortable belays I ended up ditching my minimalistic sport harness in favor of this bad boy. I personally love the padding construction and placement, as being a slim jim I have a lack of natural padding of my own. The extra gear loops are a bonus for trad as well, but I have yet to use the extra belay loop. Overall this harness is a great choice for those needing a comfortable fit.

C4s are the backbone of many a trad climber's rack, and they are rightly so. I love the expansion range the double axle design gives the cams, I love the durability of these bomber pieces, and I love the simplicity of their design. Such a well designed invention, no wonder they are a tried and true staple of the cam industry!

It does what youd want from a nut tool; relatively lightweight, low profile, catches itself if you drop it, and best of all it gets stuck nuts out. Ive used it to jimmy out plenty of nuts or a few cams that have walked themselves into a sticky situation. Definitely a fantastic nut tool for butterfingers as well!

I have been putting together my first trad rack over the past month or two, and I ended up grabbing a 0.3 and 0.4 to round out my rack sizes. Though I havent fallen on my X4s yet, I have placed the 0.4 a couple times and each times it gives me more psychological protection when I need it on those tiny cracks. Definitely a more niche use for me, but they are great for any climber needing good pro in vertical or diagonal cracks or those who send it really hard.

I picked up a pair of these for my girlfriend so that she can snowshoe, cross country ski, and backcountry ski all in a single shell. She loves the lightweight and packable construction of the pants, thanks to the goretex paclite material, which allows her to move with ease and stow the pants even easier if the weather is nice. Perfect lightweight shell for tame outdoor excursions.

The Patagonia Nano Puff is such a unique piece! The synthetic insulation allows for superb active insulation, but the tiled construction of the insulation pockets give it the look of a more traditional down jacket. I find this jacket to be very useful as a midlayer or outerlayer in tame winter/fall conditions, as the jacket's 60g Primaloft Gold Eco construction provides ample insulation while keeping the profile minimal. I have found this jacket greatly compliments the Arcteryx Atom AR, as it is a lighter alternative (has 1/2 the insulation density as the Atom AR) which makes it perfect for temps that the AR is too warm for.

Words cant express how much I love these socks. I picked up a pair of these socks a month ago to help combat the Utah winter,, and since then they have been keeping my feet snug backpacking, climbing, and walking around campus. They are definitely made with colder hiking in mind, but they also make phenomenal winter day to day socks if you dont mind wearing the same pair of socks a few days in a row.

I love these socks! I originally picked up a pair several months ago, and since then they have been keeping my feet walking around campus or just around the house. They are a more casual sock, and are perfect multi day socks thanks to the antimicrobial properties of merino wool.

I love the variety this package includes! The small ones can fit in bigger pin scars while the larger ones are great for big splitters. The grooves in the nuts are also a bonus for making weird placements feel more secure

Quote from my girlfriend- "These are great socks! They keep my feet so warm on cold days and are very comfortable to hike in. The stripes at the top are also a cute little statement. The socks fit perfectly to size. I am an 8.5 and got the medium. I couldn't be more happy with the style and fit. These socks are great every day, but especially hiking days."
