Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Fit: Runs large

this is my 3rd Denali, the fit and materials are not the same, feels larger than sz as compared to my 2 old ones...
it is a solid, classic piece of equipment..
what amazes me are the reviewers here that complain about it not being windproof... where has it EVER been said that it is made out of windstopper material or is windproof ?? more food for thought along those lines.. pit zips.. they are there to match the zips on outerware for cooling when wearing the Denali as an insulating layer...
know your equipment before you complain and review...

Maybe I have vastly different feet from the 2 reviewers here.... I have half a years use in Alaska in my Gore-Tex version... they are ruggedly built no doubt... a somewhat narrow and straight fitting last (Salomon like) as well as spot on sizing, it would pay to try these on vs. buying them blind.. Excellent heel cup! But to me, they have a very firm footbed, not much in the way of cushioning and the leather lace holes grip the laces and make it difficult to open the shoe to slide your foot in... a good shoe but I find myself wearing my Asics or NB's more due to their much more comfortable fit... maybe cushy foot beds would help these..???

These are a heavy duty shoe, much more so than a typical trail runner... Stout materials and construction you will want to try these on vs buying blind, a somewhat straight and narrow fit (like a Salomon) the laces are difficult to adjust due to the leather they run through, feels like there is NO insole, very firm feel to the bottom of my feet, heel cup is excellent!! I wear this type of shoe daily and reach for my Asics or Salomons first... New insoles might make a cushion difference but then fit may be affected...
