I got this for kayak camping on the beach to look out at the stars. We did. It was great. Could be used for backpacking but I use a lighter set up. I just ordered the footprint because I think you can fast pitch it with the fly. That should be light and roomy. I will try to remember to write are view of the footprint if it does.

I received the famish stripe from backcountry incredibly quick. They're awesome. The reason why it's 1 star is that it's synthetic. Now backcountry didn't know this and was apologetic and returned it for no charge. Realistically they weren't even supposed to catch that mistake. It's called the shakeDOWN comforter! The big Agnes tag a couple pages in state the insulation material. Boo big Agnes, boo.

So these are one of my favorite things. What put it over the top was the use on a 10 day car camping trip in Shenandoah. It's black bear country so you have to use your car as a bear box at night. We put all the food and food related items separated nicely in the cubes, and when we were done we packed all back up and put it back in the car. No worries of hidden food or plates, etc. one trip and done. It also saved a lot of time of being able to find things with the color coordination. Highly recommended for everyone who does anything anywhere ever.

It's a duffle. Well made. The fabric wasn't what I was expecting but it seems durable and waterproofable. Although is doesn't seem that it comes that way. Nothing a little spray won't take care of. The zipper is the quality you would expect from mountainsmith, excellent. The reason I gave it 3 stars because it has not a bell nor a whistle. It has no small outside or inside pockets. Four handles on each side, but no shoulder strap. I will have to rig or reuse a shoulder strap. You'd expect some sort of something, but hey it was a good deal, and it's quality. A shoulder strap would of got it to 4 stars, and a pocket to 5. It's about 1x2x1ft

I wouldn't trust them in any rainy situation, this is not a rain pant. It's too thin. I use them in the summer as a wind breaker/ night camp pant to block mosquitos. They are good to throw on when it's just chilly enough to be uncomfortable but if you didn't have the pants it wouldn't be the end of the world. I love the fact it's pants you keep in your shorts. I have also found shorts I can keep in my pants. One issue is the cuffs don't cover shoes well, so it's not very flattering.

Great deal

Haven't actually used it, set it up dry to make sure it didn't have to be returned. Definitely a keeper. The crossover makes a ridiculous amount on head room. The rain fly comes nearly to the ground assumed good cover with a fast pitch. The picture is incorrect. There is a crossover bar and the color of the rain fly is light green/yellow. Well, mine was anyway. More like this pic

I grabbed the torrent shell pants and matching jacket. Not the smallest pack, but packable none the less. Waterproof for now, wore them for 3 days in Shenandoah. Fits great, light weight, and has the pit vents which is important for me. Certainly a good suit.

Fairly comfortable boot. Got them for snowshoeing, but haven't got to use them yet this year. quite flexible around the ankle for a tall boot. I will say this though, got mine in all black and they did not have a gaitor loop, and the laces holders were fabric not metal like the picture. But I got them on sale and they're a good boot for the price.
