Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Fit: Runs small

First off, I've owned my bdv hoodie/pant combo for about a year now. Lots of alpine climbs, multi-pitches, and backpacking. The hoodie is super comfortable and looks great. Also would like to echo that it runs about a size small, super athletic fit. I usually get L but got XL instead and it fits great.
For dry eastern sierra environments, it's great. Breathable and pretty tough against the granite.
Two things though - While it does fit into its own chest pocket, it's not a small stuffing jacket. Schoeller doesn't compress that well and is actually pretty heavy for how little it insulates. Also it should be warned that this thing is USELESS AGAINST ANY RAIN. The jacket gets soaked and sticks against your skin in seconds. It holds up OK vs. wind, but not great.
So in hind-sight, I would have just purchased a thin fleece-layer. It would have been warmer, just as breathable, better in the wind/rain, lighter, and way freakin' cheaper.

Fit: Runs large

I read the reviews and decided to give this boot a try, thinking it would be a good all-around shoe. They definitely run a full size too large, and seem pretty wide. The construction with one layer of leather, many seams, no insulation, and really no support from the flimsy ankles and thin sole made me return these. Also made in China. I really couldn't see myself doing any serious backpacking or hiking in these boots. That said- they are beautiful, and would be great at work (if you work in an office) or downtown. But for $150+ there are simply better boots out there.
