Like the title says this is a heavy coat. I haven't used it too much but I would take it out skiing or snowboarding, but not much else. It is great for casual wear as well if you like the look, but I don't think I would ever use it for technical or backcountry excursions.

Comfy fit and great feel/quality!
I have big legs but the Purest pants fit amazingly. I would take these snowshoeing, skiing, or truly any outdoor winter activities!

What is it about this jacket that makes it so awesome? Why is it so popular? Should I spend so much on a piece of clothing?
These were questions I had before I bought the Micro puff. All joking aside, it is so light and warm I love it! I can wear it outside in the freezing temps and inside in a warm house without issue!

A seriously comfortable material. I would use it more but it is a bit tight. I got the right size but the material is skin tight and shows everything. If I was a body builder it would be awesome.

My go-to shirt to show the world that I am a force to be reckoned with. I didn't have the respect of my friends, parent, or coworkers. But since I bought this shirt everything has changed.
Fits true to size though

This is the perfect jacket for layering. It is great as a mid layer with a shell underneath. If the sun comes out on a warm blue day you can unleash and uncage the wolverine! Let it loose and enjoy the slopes you animal, you've earned it. This is your time to shine. Spread your wings and fly!

These are some solid boots. Solid in density but also in character. You will feel like a mountain man once you put on these boots. Waterproof to the core and durable. Go ahead, take these on your next adventure and we will see what lasts longer, you or the boots. (PS the answer is the boots!)

This is a decent jacket! Not my favorite but looks good for a hiking/trail jacket! It is pretty slim and was pretty tight on me! I would recommend not getting this jacket if you are a bigger guy like me!

I gave this as a gift but want one now! Just taking it out of the bag you can tell it is quality. If this jacket was on a dating app I would definitely swipe right.
As a side note, it is a heavy jacket. If you are looking for a jacket to do some dope skiing, snowboarding, or tear it up on the sledding slopes then this is your jacket!

The first jacket that taught me how to love.
I'm not joking, this has been one of the best things that have happened to me. When I look back at 2018 I will shed a tear of joy, not for the amazing experiences I had traveling the country, not for the release of yet three more amazing Marvel movies that have shown me that it there hope in the world.
No, it won't be for these things. I will shed a tear thinking for a moment about the day I met the Arcteryx Proton LT jacket and it held me. The moment I was swaddled in its armholes I knew that our relationship would be greater than any man/jacket love story yet to be told.
Someday when I die and have to say goodbye to this jacket for the last time (because it should last that long with its lifetime warranty) I will die a happy, man. For I had the privilege of meeting the Proton LT jacket in this lifetime

By this jacket, I give my witness that it is worth it. How much would you pay for a great friend that is always there when you need it? Well, personally folks I think $299 is just a small price to pay for such a gift.
And to those who end up passing this review thinking, I am just a wack job who spent way too much time writing a review on a product on a random website. I say to you, i'm going to be the one laughing when you are out in the cold trying to get the loft back in your jacket and trying to survive the cold. Good luck to you poor soul, remember that Arcteryx will always accept you back into its open arms(holes).

Sincerely,
A simple man, with an amazing jacket

It is a bit heavier than most hi-loft down jackets but makes up for it in the price and warmth! I had no complaints at all!
If you want a warm jacket but don't want to look like the Michelin Man or Pillsbury dough boy this is the jacket for you! I found it to fit a little bigger than a normal large would but that allowed me to add layers underneath!
All in all a great purchase!

It is a great shell for a great price!
I did not use it for anything but did go through some weird fall rainstorms with it holding up great! It is not 100% waterproof but does provide decent waterproofing!
I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quality shell for an unbeatable price.

Seriously though it is one of the lightest jackets I have. It feels like one of the Arcteryx lightweight jackets such as proton lt and provides just as much warmth as one of them! That is saying a lot considering this is from The North Face and costs about $100 less than most Arcteryx jackets!

It feels good to get a quality pack of climbing gear from a trusted brand! Whether you are getting into climbing, or are a seasoned expert just getting an extra harness this is for you!
I am 6"2" and 230 and purchased the large. For my size, I think the XL would be a better choice! Hope that helps someone!
