Familiarity: I've used it several times
Fit: True to size
I ordered two pairs of these (khaki, ink black) a couple of weeks ago, and I haven't stopped wearing them in rotation since. So comfortable, with just enough stretch to move in, but not so much that they lose shape after multiple wears. No weird wrinkles, either, which is always a pet peeve of mine. The inseam is perfect -- like my favorite trail running shorts -- and the tie/button closure is comfortable without getting caught on anything. They're generally true to size (for what's listed on the Patagonia size chart) -- I was worried initially, as I have pretty muscular legs. The khaki seems to fit a bit more snugly than the ink black, so more of the slight pocket bulge issue that others have noticed, but they're still great and not too tight/don't ride up. Pockets are deep enough for lots of dog poop bags and keys, or trail snacks -- they'll stretch to fit. I should note that the ink black is not a true black, but more of a dark charcoal, which is what I wanted anyways. These will be perfect for all my desert dirtbagging for a while to come. Worth it to pay more, too, to have a lifetime guarantee from an ethical company.
