So many modes, so easy to use.

In designing the Sync Headlamp, Princeton Tec set out to combine its proven single arm bracket construction with a wide set of modes to please a variety of discerning users with an easy-to-use interface. In doing this, it gave the Sync an easy power dial to allow for simple and fast switching between functions. Choose between the Sync's red ultrabright LED, a low flood, high flood, and spot light. When you really need to shine the light on things, turn the dial to to dual beam mode, and boom: both spotlight and floodlight penetrate the dark.

    Bombproof

The packaging is tamperproof and will withstand attempts to extract the product . A sharp knife is not enough to free this headlamp without damage. Be prepared with heavy snips to cut through the bilaminate packaging that secures the headlamp, batteries and strap in 3 separate compartments. The fragile clips on the headlamp are susceptible to failure if you pry, pull or tear. Be prepared and be patient.

      Love my lamp

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

After reading about this lamp in Backpacker Mag. I looked it up and had to have it. It's big selling point to me was the power dial instead of the buttons. When wearing gloves or when your fingers are just numb it is difficult to push those little buttons to find the mode you are looking for. With the dial its easier to feel with gloves on even thicker ones and the modes are easier to find. The lumens are just enough for setting up camp, finding water, and finding firewood. Love it, buy it.

      Great trail finding lamp

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I used it last week after hiking up a trail at dusk. It was pitch black coming down but this headlamp was awesome. Having 5 settings insured that I was able to find one that helped me find the trail. Coming down the trail at night was a breeze and you can't beat the price.

      Good headlamp

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

We have 2 of these lamps we've used for the winter camping/skiing season. My gf and I carry the same gear to make spare battery management easier. The headlamp is a robust unit with good light production and carries fine in my pack. I've had a few instances where I just used the red lamp because the whites were so bright with snow on the ground. The up/down adjustment is a little cludgy but still pretty manageable. If you want super lumens for sports or something else, might not be the right lamp for you. Generally recommend as a solid mid-range headlamp for camping, sailing, etc.

      My go-to lamp

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I own five different Princeton Tec head lamps and love them all...but the Sync is my go-to. It has lots of brightness settings for all your outdoor applications. My favorite setting is the red LED. Since I do a lot of "stealth camping", it's great for allowing your eyes to stay naturally adjusted to your nighttime environment.

      Backpacker Magazine Reccomended

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Nice headlamp, it has lots of modes which are easy to switch through with the dial. The headlamp can be tilted with one hand to shine lower to the ground or more straight-forward. I used this lamp on a night hike through the woods with red mode for most of the hike. The red light kept most bugs and moths at bay and was easy enough to see for me. I've found other modes attract more bugs but that's to be expected. This headlamp is not as bright as some of the other lamps on the market but excels with the different flood light options.

Can the position angle of this headlamp be adjusted?

      Best Answer

Yes the housing of the lamp is adjustable so you can tilt it down while you are eating by the fire at night or reading a book in the tent.
