Princeton Tec's lightest.
You'll barely notice Princeton Tec's Byte Headlamp overhead whether you're running, climbing, hiking, or camping. A single Maxbright LED provides a surprisingly strong beam that can reach nearly a hundred feet, and there's a red Ultrabright LED to extend vision without hindering your night vision.

Great basic headlamp
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
For the price this headlamp is pretty hard to beat, my husband and I each have one. It's perfect for casual camping, I wouldn't necessarily try it on a night trek or climb, but it gets the job done around a campsite, and having the red light option is awesome too, it make it so that you can see what you're doing without blinding your friends! I'm planning on giving a couple to family for the holidays this year, I think it's a good bang for your buck headlamp.
Serves the purpose
I bought this headlamp in Greenleaf Hut on my way down from Lafayette Mt. in New Hampshire. Did the job very well on the way down in the dark for the duration of my descent. Very light, adjustable angle, used it on non-bright as ultra bright was excessive in the wooded trail. Worked very well in the camp also, also on normal brightness and red. Good experience overall.
Stopped working after one use.
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Used once on an 2 night camping trip (where it stayed dry and handled gently) then put into storage for about a year. Now no longer works, despite fresh batteries. Pretty annoyed, it looks brand new but I guess it's junk now.
