Very Nice! Very Expensive!

I've used it several times

This stove is beautiful and has nice features like the integrated ignition, however this stove is still outside my price range. For a stove that retails at $250, I think it only performs for a stove that should be half that price. Its a few inches smaller than most two burner stoves I've used and therefore you need smaller pans. It is nice to have the legs to elevate the stove while cooking but the legs and the wind guards are kinda flimsy. This stove is still great, but just outside my price range for a stove. Hopefully Primus is good good enough quality that this stove will last for generations.

Could be so nice!

I have to admit, I’m pretty disappointed in opening this stove up out of the box. I bought a Primus backpacking stove 15 years ago and man it is so well made, absolutely indestructible. I now have a family and we rely on car camping much more. We broke two Coleman dual burner stoves and decided to bite the bullet and “upgrade”... I thought this had a lot of potential to be another lifetime product from Primus, but straight out of the box I’m dumbfounded. First it is smaller than your typical two burner, not a huge deal, but why? Second, the steel supporting the wood handle is bent pretty bad. Third, the wood strips on top, yes have two brass screws on either end, but are very sloppily glued with a bead of ridiculously sticky glue squinting out on either side, it took a half hour with oven cleaner to get it cleaned up. Fourth, gets into the design, the wind shields fold out too high, leaving a large gap right near the flame, what’s the point? Fifth, the folding leg system could be really nice, but there is no simple lock when you close them down... so they kind of dangle loose relying on friction only, not good for shoving in and out of a car. Sixth, goes back to the wood, if they are going to go towards a stylish design, they should pay attention to details, the wood handle is very sharp, one touch with sandpaper and it would be fine. The flapping legs really suggests that one needs the bag to go with this stove, but, darn, it is hard to invest more money into something that very clearly has quality control issues and design flaws. I really expected much more from Primus - pretty disappointed. That being said, we need a stove for the weekend, so we will roll with it, hopefully it can live up to the simple task of burning gas! Speaking of which, Primus includes an intialed inspection card, like the “high end” liquor gimmick, that lets you know that the stove was hand tested... did they not see the bent handle and glue all over the place? Considering that this stove costs twice the typical stove, you’d think they would have some more pride in their product.

Great for Car Camping!

I've used it several times

This stove is a very high quality piece of equipment. I really like how consistent and hot the burners are. The flame is quite strong and is affected by mild wind very little. Also the wind screens on the side are pretty versatile since they dont really have fixed attachment points. The tray that comes out under the burners is extremely easy to take out and clean, I like this feature a lot. I havent found out for sure but it Would be cool if you could get an attachment and a hose extender to attach either a full size propane tank or at least a smaller refillable tank. Although I have only used the stove with the green Coleman tanks, it is nice to be able to use the smaller backpacking stove canisters. The small griddle that came with this stove is pretty cool too, perfect for small quesadillas, grilled cheese, burgers, fish fillets, etc. I can fit a 12 inch cast iron pan and a medium sized saucepan comfortably. I dont think two 12 inch cast irons would work well. All in all awesome piece of equipment, if I could change one thing I would make it a few inches wider to accommodate two 12 inch pans. I am ready to enjoy this stove for years to come!

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This stove is like carrying your stove from home out into the woods. I simmered food with it! And the wind screens work well too, they are also magnetic. Starts right away. First click. Love it!

Hi Ryan, I have a question about this kit. if you bought kit, please help me about my question. I was wondering if the bag included is like this one? : many thanks.

Bag is NOT included.
