    You do it all.

Of course, the prAna Stretch Zion Men's Short would prefer to spend the summer navigating slot canyons and working on bouldering problems, but like you, it'll also welcome some day-time hefeweizens along with lunch with friends in the city. Its four-way stretch fabric delivers mobility and quick-drying comfort to handle crowded sidewalks and bustling national parks alike, while abrasion-resistant nylon withstands the abuse the comes with long rocky scrambles and brushy approaches through the brambles. Then, the ventilated free range gusset brings an envious level of breathable comfort through hotter days, and the mesh pockets pockets offer lightweight storage for your maps, wallet, keys, and snacks.

    • Adventure-ready short built to accompany you in versatile comfort
    • Stretchy nylon fabric offers blend of flexibility and durability
    • Fabric wicks moisture to prevent being bogged down with sweat
    • Regular fit and inseam gusset keep your range of motion natural
    • Integrated belt locks down the fit just the way you like it
    • Cargo pockets provide ample storage for smaller essentials
    • Item #PRA00M1

What else can be said about these shorts...They are the most comfortable shorts I own. Great for traveling - built in belt, zippered cargo pocket, stretchy and breathable. Great for hiking, and look good enough to wear on a casual day.

I literally wear these every day

I don't need to say much more than what I said above. These are the absolutely perfect summer shorts for all activities.

Hard to say more than others already have on these versatile shorts. The defining feature is the fabric - stretchy for supreme mobility yet surprisingly tough. Easily moves from trail to town. I am a huge fan of the offset integrated belt, really thoughtful detail. The 12 inch inseam hits me right below the kneecap. These will become your go-to shorts for anything outdoors!

The OG hiking and camping Shorts!!

If there were 10 stars I would give these bad boys 12. Seriously, figure out your size and buy every color, you can thank me later. They fit very true to size in the waist, and with a short or long inseam you can dial in a super solid fit for your liking. Personally I am a shorter guy, and these in the 10" option have a perfect above knee length in the leg.

The 4-way stretch fabric that Prana uses for these as well as so many other great styles is simply bomber. This stuff stretches with you, feels great to the touch, sheds dirt or water like a champ, and looks great while doing so. Did I mention the fabric was Bomber?

Climb in them, summit summer 14ers in them, wade your local stream in them, and then meet your boys for well deserved cold brews in style.

In summary the Stretch Zion Short is pretty awesome; buy them, conquer the world in comfort and style.

They are the best shorts you can put your legs into. Don't have a bathing suit? No worry these will work. Want to have that extra pizza slice? 4-way strech! Fun colors, stylish for being so casual. Highly recommend!

I am in love with the stretch zion material. If it is climbing up rocks, or just going out around town these look great, feel great, and perform like champs. Well designed pockets with zippers for phones and such. I prefer the 12 inch inseam to protect the world from my man thigh. Don think just buy they are perfect. If you want a more casual version the brions are the same feel just less alpine inspired.

    comfortable!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

Love these shorts. I really appreciate pants/shorts that don't require a belt when hiking. I find belts to be bulky and infrequently have the right snugness with them. These shorts eliminate that need and are great thus far.

    Classic

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Great shorts that are built for years of wear. After about three years in an old pair, I got a new pair due to no longer fitting as I lost a bunch of weight. I love these shorts and highly recommend them. Hopefully someday they will put a DWR on these and then they would be a five star product.

    Amazing!

These shorts are great. You can wear them for any occasion. The material dries quick if you are a sweaty guy like me. Your phone does fit in the cargo pocket so you dont have to walk around with it in your front pocket. The cargo pocket has a side zipper and a top flap (that doesn't flap) that keep everything secure. I have couple pair and would wear them everyday if I could.

    It was a warm day.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

It was a warm day the day I first tried my Prana Stretch Zion shorts, you see, my thought process was “hey it’s a warm day, I’m going on a hike, I should wear some shorts.” My dad calls them ‘shots’ because he’s from Boston(go Pats), he also calls pizza ‘pitzzer’ and trash ‘rubbish’ so, who really knows what’s going on with that guy. Anyhow, I was in Moab with some friends, (see my reviews on shoes and other assorted articles) it was a warm day, I wore shorts, they fit well, they adjusted to my waist size well, the many assorted pockets accommodated my many assorted things well, everything went well, well, except for the rappel…but we’ll get into that at another time. For now I’ll just say the Prana Stretch Zion Shorts are, well, swell!

P.S. the 10" inseam is where it's at BOI!

    Just like the pants

These shorts are my go to for travel/hiking/everything outdoors. They are unrivaled in their comfort. I can pretty much guarantee that no matter what I encounter throughout my day, being uncomfortable in the shorts will not be one of them. These are built to hold up for years. They are a staple in my wardrobe.

    Great Shorts, new sizing

I can't add to the multitude of exuberant reviews I wholeheartedly agree with, but I wasn't sure what to do when Prana went from S, M, L sizing to the more precise numerical waist measurements. I tried a few sets and found the 32s equate pretty closely to the Mediums I bought a few years ago. Hope this helps some other folks spread throughout multiple generations.

as good as the pants, just shorter!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Don't give it another thought, buy them. Great fit and finish, stylish, versatile,.... Supper comfy for activities, and quick drying. I love them.

    Perfect for everything

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

The description for these shorts says it all. I've worn them climbing, hiking, sleeping and eating out. Super comfy but durable enough to withstand the rugged Utah landscape, I can see them holding up for years in any environment. As with the pants, built in adjustable waistband allows you to forego the belt and makes them very airport friendly.

    Perfect for everything

    Stretchy Comfort

I have a pair of the Zion pants and love them, and these Zion shorts are just as great if not better. The material on this is amazing and stretches with you when you move, so it does not bunch up and restricts motion. I went with the 9 inch inseam and they sit right above the knee making them perfect for a variety of activities. I would recommend these for anyone looking for a great pair of shorts with great variability.

    Best for years

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These are the best and ONLY shorts I wear. Just read the rest of the reviews. 6'3" and 225lbs. 36 waist is true to size. I use them for going out, recreational activities and swim wear. I've used them to make boat sails. I've also used them as a makeshift net to catch trout when stranded in the Alaskan wilderness after my hangglider went down on my nonstop flight around the planet. Pretty solid shorts!

    Dad digs 'em

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size

Got these for my dad and he loves them. Nice and stretchy for hiking and outdoor activity but still look dressy enough to wear golfing or to nicer warm weather events. I recommend to all dudes out there!

I've got a pair of Larges from an earlier version. What size corresponds well to that? I wear a 34 - 36 depending on the pants (there is lots of variation these days).

    Unanswered Question

    color?
I ordered a pair in the indigo color and they look just like the blue ridge color from the photo. Are there two colors of blue, because mine are not indigo?

I love my size medium Zions, and they fit perfectly, but now they've gone to numerical sizing....do I want a 32 or 33 waist in the new regime?

I have the Prana Stretch Zion pants (love em) in small and they're still a little big, have to cinch the belt a little. I normally wear 30x30 pants, just wanted to know if the XS shorts would be TOO small. Any ideas?

Are any of the pockets zippered and if so, which ones? Is the belt removable?

The left side pocket is zippered (twice, actually, one facing up and one facing front - which is handy depending on if you are sitting or standing). The belt is not removable but it's very small and only shows in the front. Completely unobtrusive.

Can an iPhone 6 plus fit in the lower leg pocket?

Can someone help me figure out my size, please? I wear the Prana Axiom jean in size 34 waist and 34 inseam. Some folks say these run large and some say these Zion shorts run small...

Can someone help me out? Do I need a Medium or a Large?

    Thanks!!

Kurt. Another Kurt here. I wear the Axiom 34 x 34 and the Theorem 34 x34. I have two pair of the Zion shorts, and both are Large. Fit the same as the 34 x 34 jeans. Measured the waist band with a tape measure, and they were identical +/- 0.25".

Just received a pair in Medium (my waist measures 33in over my underwear) and they are clearly too big. I can fit 2-3 finger widths in between but I can make them fit with the nifty built in belt. Is it worth exchanging for the a Small? The sizing chart shows a two inch difference in the waist. If it matters the Prana Mojo Mediums I ordered fit me perfectly. Thanks!

I wear a 28-29 short/jean. Will the small fit me? It's SO hard finding climbing clothing for my size!

    Mrwp269247,

    I know your pain.

I too have problems not just with climbing clothing, but with basically all clothing, as my waist sits right at that 28-29in mark.

That being said, I would go with the XS, I think the S would still be a bit too large for your waist, and you would probably have issues with the fit, as well as making them stay on while on the wall.

I've included a size chart I found on prAna's website, and according to them, you want to take your waist measurement and subtract 2" from that to determine what "prAna size" to get.

I notice that BC doesn't have any of that size in stock currently, so I would recommend chatting with a gear rep to see if they can find out when they will be receiving more sizes of the XS, if you do decide to go that route.

    Good luck, hope this helps.

How true to sizing are these? I wear 31's in most shorts/pants. The sizing chart shows S to be 30" whereas M is 32-33". Obviously, I fall in between. Don't want too baggy but I don't want my range of motion restricted either. Any help would be appreciated.

I wear a size 38" or XL in Kuhl, Outdoor Research,Mountain Hardwear and Patagonia. I just bought a pair of these in XL and although they fit, they're tighter than all others I have. I'm going to exchange for an XXL or more likely O.R. Ferrosi shorts which fit perfectly at XL.
