Mom's Get Cold Easily, But Not In These!

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
  • Fit: True to size

My mother works outside on a daily basis and that is fine until the weather starts to turn. When snow starts to fall, she is one of the coldest people I know. That was until I got these for her. She struggled to get her legs into the leg holes at first as the lining does somewhat drape internally but once she got them on, they fit her perfectly. With a durable water repellency treatment on the pant, water beads of them so that they can withstand a build up of moisture. Combine that with unbeatable stretch and this pant is ready to take on whatever life throws at you.

Love These Pants!!!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: 6

Bought these for snow camping in the Sierras and boy am I glad I did. They are so warm and comfortable. The best buy in a long time. They do run large, so go down a size when ordering. If I bought again I would order a 4. However they have a drawstring to tighten up the waist.

Amazing!!!!

These pants are incredible! Yes, the lining sometimes catches your foot, but I'm definitely willing to overlook that minor flaw because the pants overall are incredible!!! I wore them hiking at 8000 feet elevation in 10 degree temps. They kept me perfectly warm, were extremely durable against the brush and pinion pines, were super comfortable and the stretch was perfect for all movements! Best pants EVERY!!! I ordered a size 2 to be able to wear merino wool long underwear underneath if need be. They were plenty roomy, but not too much so I didn't have to worry about them being sloppy or way too big.

Best Winter Pants!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 8

After falling in love with my Halle pants for hiking and climbing in the summer, I decided to invest in the lined ones for winter, and it was the best idea! I wear them to lead snowshoe hikes, for bouldering in our unheated rock gym and to shovel my driveway, but they're also great work pants, and can easily be worn out with a nice top. The best part is that no matter how chilly it is outside, I'm toasty warm. These are great if you're pretty outdoorsy in your life generally, or if you work in a freezing cold office. I love them and I'm already thinking about my next pair! I can't wait to try them on an outside climb once the snow is gone...

Comfy, stylish and practical

Yes, it's true that the inner lining of these pants isn't 100% attached and integrated with the outer layer, making them impossible to just slip on and go, but they're worth the little extra time and effort it takes to put them on. I needed a pair of go-to cold weather pants that are waterproof for hikes in the snow and rain, and are also durable for the days I volunteer walking dogs and found perfection in these pants. I normally wear 0 or XS in prana pants and leggings, but had to get 2 since 0 was unavailable but they fit fine. They're a little loose, but I don't mind because it makes for greater range of motion. I've gotten many compliments on them after just wearing them out two times.

Cold weather fabulouseness

I walk dogs in all kinds of weather for a living. These pants are windproof, water resistant, and warm- and bonus- they look great, and are comfortable. I can't say enough how happy I am with this purchase.

great pants

Very comfortable. I use them to walk and play fetch with my dog on cold mornings. I thank the person who is built like me (hourglass) for her recommendation; I got a 10 and it fits well. As for putting them on--find the hole on the bottom with your hand, open it, and put your foot through it; it's not hard.

Irritating but comfortable

  • Fit: True to size

(I wish there was a 3.5 rating) It is really, really, really hard putting these pants on with or without socks. Feet always get caught in the lining unless you pull the pant leg completely up to thigh area before putting the pants on and then put your hand through the lining opening to guide your foot through. Irritating. Also no ability to order small length or tall length even though size chart says they exist. So if you are short be prepared for a hemming job. (True to size except if you are short or tall) Now, having said all that, the pants are super-comfortable and warm, the drawstring feature is great and the pants are good-looking. I am on my way to get them hemmed.

Very comfortable pants

This is my second pair of the Halle Lined pants. These are great for cold days or out on a trail in cooler temperatures. The lining is very comfortable and allows movement when hiking or climbing over obstacles. The waist has drawstrings to tighten the pants, if needed as well as a button to fasten. When attempting to put these on with socks, my foot gets caught in the lining and I have to stick my arm in the pant leg to find the other end but without socks - no problems. These pants are great fit all the way around and have been a wonderful investment.

Waking up and walking my dogs right as the sun comes up in the winter is miserable. I have always stayed pretty warm due to a nice beanie, a great jacket and sweet gloves. Now I can say that I am totally warm when I put these pants on.
They are not super thick or bulky and still shapely. I have actually worn them working outside in the yard for hours and did not get to warm. They do seem to weight as much as my snowboarding pants but since I just pull them off of my floor in the morning it is not a big deal.
The only problem is that sometimes if I am not pulling the lining up when sliding my feet in my socks will create a binding effect with the liner at the pant leg exit and I will have to fish for my foot. Still worth it.
I purchased these in a size 8 and normally purchase other Prana pants in size 8 as well. No need to size up for the lining.

Make these in a tall please!

I really wish Prana made these in a Tall version. (calling all Prana reps!) These would have been great for winter ventures but I need the Tall version.

I'm in love

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I'm 5'6" with longish legs and 70kg. I generally wear a size 10-12 in US sized pants and I prefer slightly looser fit. My Prana Avril pants (my fav warmer weather pants) are a size L. I bought these Halle insulated pants in a size 12 and they fit great. Not tight, but not baggy either. The waist is a little big - I have a sway back so this is often a problem in pants for me. Thankfully the draw string waist allows me to cinch it in so the wind can't creep in. I generally wear it with a shirt tucked in for warmth anyway.

Someone commented about them looking like snow pants, but I disagree. I think they look fabulous.

Most comfortable pants ever

These are the most comfortable pants!! The lining is so soft and warm. I wore these pants out to a special occasion, they are that nice and fit just right. Also good for hiking when it is cool. Get these pants!!!

Amazing investment!!

I was quite hesitant in making a purchase on these pants and was elated after trying them on. Most of the PrAna pants I've seen seem to fit smaller women just fine. I'm a taller female and built a bit larger. I purchased the size 8 and these fit like a dream. They are comfortable around the waist and hug in the right places but still allow movement.

The lining of these pants make these warm and yet breathable. The only down side is that my foot and leg seem to get lost in the abyss while putting them on. My socks get stuck and the lining twists super easy then bunch after pulling the pants on. Regardless, once my foot finds it's way to the light, these straighten out and are some of the most comfortable pants I've used outdoors. I've only used them once for a hike in a small snow storm and these kept their warmth and moved with me. Definitely recommend for cooler days!

Love these pants. They are comfortable and warm without being bulky. And they are stylish to boot! I have the black and wear them to work and to hike! These are super versatile pants.
I wore them snowshoeing with my honey and to the brewery after and never for a moment was uncomfortable. These pants fit me perfectly and feel great in them.

Love 'em

Just took these out for a hike today. Awesome, comfortable and warm. High 30's clear with a slight wind. The best thing about them was I didn't wear any other layers underneath. So nice! I really am not a fan of wearing long johns. They are too confining like wearing pantyhose under your pants. These kept me warm without bulk and are not too tight. I would prefer a higher waist and a narrower lower pant leg but hey these were fine. Got them on sale too.

    My new favorite pants

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large

I cannot say enough good things about these pants. They are super warm and feel like I'm wearing fleece sweatpants when I put them on. On camping trips I usually end up wearing leggings and freezing the entire time. These are flattering and super warm. Windproof and water resistant, these pants are really practical for all sorts of endeavors. They have some stretch to them so I definitely plan to hike and climb in them. I usually wear a medium in Prana but went down to a size 6 in these as per reading other reviews. They seem to run a little big. Buy these pants!

What is the inseam on these?

Hi Cindy, Inseam is going increase as you go up in size. I've attached a size chart below for you to take a look at. If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out to me directly and I'll get you taken care of. - Matthew Pizza - Expert Gearhead

How do these fit compared to the unlined Halle pants? I am a fitted 6 in those and trying to decide whether to stay the same or size up.

Will these fit over ski/snowboard boots?
