Awesome, all around pant for work & play

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 6 reg
    • Height: 5'5"
    • Weight: 135lbs

Love the Halle pants! I was looking for a pair of pants that I could put through the wringer with hiking, backpacking, and outdoor rock climbing but could still wear to work. They are tough, tear resistant, quick-drying, and have exceeded my expectations.
They run a bit large, but thanks to the reviews, I was able to size down appropriately. I'm athletically built, and the 6 reg is maybe a bit big, but I wanted something that allowed plenty of movement, and thanks to the drawstring around the waist, it's no problem making the fit perfect. I have big thighs and butt, but these are still comfy to allow any movement. I'm a bit on the shorter side, and the hem is a fraction of an inch off the ground depending on the shoes I'm wearing.

    Loving These

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

These pants are pretty stellar. They help you play in the dirt, and then give them a brush off and wear them to dinner! I've never owned a hiking pant that could do both! But Halle delivers. If you like Halle, I strongly recommend checking out the Stretch Zion pant for your man.

    Perfect hiking pants

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

I love these hiking pants. The fabric is nice and light and they dry very fast. I really like that you can roll the bottoms up if you do start to get a little warm and they still look cute. In my opinion they run true to size. Get these pants!

    Best pants ever!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 10 regular
    • Height: 5'3"
    • Weight: 180lbs

I love these pants! I ordered a size smaller based on the reviews, and it was worth it! Ordering the smaller size made them fit like a glove. I've received so many compliments even out on the trail! They're comfortable, breatheable, and have just enough stretch.

    Good not great

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 10 Long
    • Height: 5'11"
    • Weight: 175lbs

These are comfortable and perfectly acceptable hiking pants. They run slightly large, but not terribly so. However, I do not like how small all of the pockets are. I can't even fit my phone in any of the 5 pockets.

    I'm in Love

Could I possibly rave enough about these pants?? I ordered this pant, as well as one of the regular (non exclusive) Halle pants, and hands down, this one is my new favorite pair of pants.

As a tall female with larger thighs in proportion to my buttocks, I find it very difficult to find any sort of pant that fits right. Enter Prana. The 35" inseam of the tall length is perfect for my 6'1" frame, keeping my ankles shielded from persistent mosquitos. The material stretches well with my movement (read: high stepping in the backcountry with a pack on), and dries quickly after becoming wet.

The only con would be that the pant stretches out after a couple of days of use, but the drawstrings on the waist help keep them in place. I ordered a size down from normal, and they fit great. Overall they're a very functional pant that looks damn good to boot. I'll definitely be purchasing more pairs in the future.

    Disappointed

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 2
    • Height: 5'7"
    • Weight: 135lbs

This is my first time purchasing from the prAna brand. I was very eager to buy these pants because two of my guy friends speak very highly of prAna and wear the Men's Zion Stretch pants. The Halle pants are supposed to be the female equivalent. I was very pleased with how flattering they looked, how comfortable they were, and how well they fit, but it looks like I will be returning them for the following reasons:
The pockets are very small. I don't know why companies think women don't need practical pockets, and I had thought prAna might be generous in this area. I was wrong. I liked the side zipper feature on the leg pocket, but in general the pockets don't measure up to the pockets on the Men's Zion pants.
The waist cinch system is very inconvenient. While I love that there is a feature allowing you to adjust the waist to fit your specific size, when I compared it to the Men's Zion pants, again the Halle pants fell short. On the Halle pants, the tie string is inside, pulling from both the left and right sides of the zipper. This means it must be tied right behind the double button, which means that every time you have to use the restroom or change clothes, you must untie the drawstring. The Men's Zion pants are much more convenient in this area, as on them, the tie is a slide attachment (easily adjustable without needing to tie/retie to get the perfect fit) and is on the outside. Furthermore, the Men's Zion cinch system is only one one side, thus allowing you to use the restroom without having to loosen it much (if you have small hips like I do).
I have personally tried on the Men's Zion pants and find them more convenient in these two areas, the pockets and cinch system. I would simply order the Men's Zion pants instead, were it not for how baggy they look on me after seeing myself in the flattering Halle pants. Looks like I might have to search for a different company who will make women's fit pants that are just as practical as their men's pants. I will be returning my Halle pants.

    Great pants, but small pockets

These pants are nicely made, very stretchy, I would say a fall weight. They are a little too heavy for even high desert hiking. I bought them to use on a fall trip to Europe, but am returning them because the pockets are not deep enough. The fit is generous; if you are between sizes you can order the smaller one.

Great Pants to Live In - Size Down

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: Runs large
      • Size Bought: 4 (then 2)
      • Height: 5'6"
      • Weight: 116lbs

My favorite pants. I practically lived in these pants whilst on a recent trip to a cold climate, and I've used them in the desert as well, (but they are a little thick and warm for that). Love them! They are really comfortable and hold their shape reasonably well, and I think they are really flattering. I used them hiking and later on just walking around town. prAna pants tend to be cut a bit large -- especially up top, so you may want to consider going down a size if you are between sizes. I first ordered my normal size, and after a few hours of wear, I found myself having to pull them up all the time if I didn't use the drawstring tie. This tie isn't very comfortable, so I used a belt, but they look best without one. You can roll the bottoms up if it gets hot, and it doesn't look too bad -- unlike some convertible pants. They stayed pretty dry in a light rain, but didn't do so well in a downpour; nevertheless, they dry quickly.

The Halle pants are incredibly durable. I scraped them, caught them on sharp edges sticking out and abused them mercilessly, and they still look brand new. They only have a small, vertical side leg pocket, but you can't fit much in there. On the positive side, that means you always look like you have a nice, slim leg instead of bulky leg saddlebags.

I loved these pants so much, I decided to get another pair, but I sized down, and what a difference it made. No more slipping down without the drawstring tie. They stretch and move with you, so even if they seem quite snug when you first put them on, they will stretch out after about an hour or so with wear, so that's another reason to size down unless you like them quite loose.

      Best. Hiking. Pants. Ever!

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: 4
      • Height: 5'5"

Love these pants; I hope Prana never stops making them. The fit fit superb; functional and flattering, for my shape (slender yet curvy; long torso). Love the fabric, as well. I've read people complain about consistency in this pant, but the pair I just purchased from Backcountry perfectly match the pair I bought 2 years ago. Just love these!

      Perfect

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: Runs large
      • Size Bought: 2
      • Height: 5'8"
      • Weight: 135lbs

      *Super Cute
      *Stretchy
      *Strong
      *Must Have
      *Size Down

These are good for anything and everything. If you need a really thin pant, for the 90+ degree temps, then look at the Sage. Otherwise, they are perfect.

      Perfect

They really are the perfect pant!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size

They're comfortable, dry fast, can dress them up or down, I love them. The only weird thing is that one pair fits a lot tighter than my other and they're the same exact size. My weight fluctuates so I kept both just thought it was kind of strange.

      Flattering, Durable, Perfect Hiking Pant

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: 4 regular
      • Height: 5'5"
      • Weight: 130lbs

I just worse these pants on a 5 day backpacking trip and they were the best hiking pants I have ever owned. On warmer days I wore them as is with nothing underneath, and they are breathable, light, flattering, and very durable. On the colder days I experienced I put on a pair of leggings underneath and they worked very well when layering as well. I did not find that even after several days they stretched out significantly, and there is a string at the button and zipper that helps keep them tight and secure even after wearing them for several days. The thing I like most about these pants though is undeniably the fit. They are the most flattering women's hiking pants I have ever owned, and I like that they flare perfectly at the ankle to go over your hiking boots but are still a slim fit around the upper legs. I purchased a 4 regular and they fit wonderfully - I am 5'5'' and 130lbs.

      Versatile and Well-made

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: 2 (Short)
      • Height: 5'1"
      • Weight: 110lbs

The real test of these pants was squeezing through some chimneys last weekend that put my other climbing pants (Patagonia Venga Rock Pants) to shame. They protect your phone with the zip pocket on the leg, and really protect you from thistles, rocks, and moisture. The option for a short size is great (still have to cuff mine) and the back pockets are kind of pointless. The back pockets open up while climbing because of the buttons, so I wouldn't stash anything back there. They don't feel too heavy, and you can easily layer leggings underneath if it's going to get cold. Wish they had some flashier colors!

Just purchased - already buying pair #2

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: Runs large
      • Size Bought: 4
      • Height: 5'2"
      • Weight: 130lbs

I'm a wildlife biologist who does field work frequently, so I go through hiking pants like candy. I've only owned these pants 3 days, wore them twice, and already know they'll be my favorite. I'm already getting ready to buy them in another color. If you're tired of swishy, shapeless hiking pants - snatch these up. They're made of a lightweight but thicker material than the typical hiking pant that gives them a nice (yet breathable and insanely comfy/stretchy) structure. The cut was designed for women (FINALLY!!) with tapered knees, wide waistband, and flattering stitching on the backside. I do feel like they run a tiny bit large in the waist (nothing a belt or the drawstrings can't fix) and in length: I'm short at 5'2", but I ordered regular length since short length hiking pants tend to come up way too far when I'm sitting down. I regret not ordering these in short length, as the regulars ended up quite long on me and need to be cuffed a few inches.

      Halle, you ma girl!

Halle, whoever you are and wherever you are, thank you! In all honesty, I bought these pants because they're popular here at work and I wanted to fit in. But now I have 2 pairs and I recommend them to everyone. I totally understand why they're so popular! If you don't like jeans because they're uncomfortable but you're over the leggings scene, these are the pants. They're as comfortable as leggings or sweatpants but don't look loungy. I love that they can be worn as full length pants or as capris. I mostly wear them as capris but they're nice to unclip every once in a while when it's chilly or when you're hiking through brush and don't want to tear up your legs. The stretch is really awesome too. I'm a mediocre gym climber if that but they're stretchy enough for me to climb in and you can just wipe the chalk off and go run errands after. The material is seriously amazing. I was sure I stained them and that they'd be nasty after a really muddy hike but they wash up just like new. I was hesitant to put them in the dryer but the Prana reps said to dry them every once in awhile to reactivate the DWR treatment. Just try them on, you just gotta.

      Halle, you ma girl!

BEST hiking pant + EXCLUSIVE colors

      • Fit: Runs large
      • Size Bought: 2
      • Height: 5'6"
      • Weight: 130lbs

I originally ordered a 4 in this pant and they felt a little baggy so I exchanged them for a size 2. They tend to stretch out a tad if you forgo washing them for days on end. I wear a size 4 or 28 regularly. I spent a month trekking in Nepal and wore these without washing them for the entire trip and they stretched out in the waist BUT they have a drawstring so it wasn't a problem!

Let me take a minute and tell you about why I LOVE this material. Say goodbye to techy-swishy sounding trekking pants. These pants feel like a hug but are tough enough to withstand a summer of bushwhacking to the tallest peaks. And it stretches! They dry quickly after a rain shower.

Other features I love: side thigh pocket big enough for the iPhone 6s with a lifeproof case on, snaps to hold the pants at capri length, button close back pockets, and articulated knees.

I wear these trekking, climbing, around town, and in the office. I have a 31 inch inseam and the regular fit with my hiking boots and trail running shoes but would be a tad long if I wore flip flops.

10/10 would recommend to a friend.

      Best Pants EVER

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: Runs small
      • Size Bought: 2 and 4
      • Height: 5'11"
      • Weight: 138lbs

These are my favorite pants in the entire world. They fit like nothing else. I'm very tall so the fact that they come in a "long" is a dream made manifest into reality. Thank you, Prana! I own two sizes, both which fit. I wear the size 2 (even though this is the only brand I've ever owned a 2 in) for traveling and walking around Europe. The black is dark enough to pretend to be a little bit "dressier." Paired with a walking sandal, I feel like I don't embarrass myself at nice cafes. I like to do strenuous hiking in the size 4. They're looser on me, while still fitting very well. My only quibble with this pant is the drawstring. The string is on the inside of the waistband, so if you draw it tight to keep your pants near to the waist, the button part gaps a little. Still, it's a small issue. The fabric is wonderfully breathable and seems resistant to moisture. I used these pants to hike across Ireland and while they weren't water-proof, I never felt bothered by the rain. Everyone else is making that water-proof pant noise with their thighs, and I'm feeling light and silent. The pants dried in no time at all. I own six pairs.
