    Hands Down Favorite Pant.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 6 Tall
    • Height: 5'10"
    • Weight: 150lbs

For everything. Tall size, stretch fabric incredibly comfortable and flattering. Does well against moisture, dries fast. Can wear long to stay warm during dawn approaches or to protect against bushwacking then rolls up when temps get hot or while crossing a stream. Front zip pocket great for easy phone access during biking, climbing, etc so you can nail the instagram money shot without bringing a daypack.

    Love Them!!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 4 tall

Finally a pair of hiking pants for my long legs! They run big but are super comfy and fit well by themselves or with layers under them.

    Well-loved!

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Height: 6'4"
    • Weight: 215lbs

These pants are great quality as to be expected from prana. The fit is nice, and the durability is great. They can get a little bit hot, but in turn last longer in abrasive terrain. the pockets are a little on the small side (you can't fit a modern smart phone all the way in them) which is disappointing for a technical pant. 4 stars

Second pair I purchased - love them

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 4-Tall
    • Height: 5'9"
    • Weight: 132lbs

This is my second pair of these pants. They are super comfortable, very flexible, and quite water resistant. They run a little big, but because there is a tie on the waist, I just pull it a little tighter, so the fit is nice. I also love that these pants come in tall (I am 5'-9"). I will probably end up buying another pair soon enough...

Second pair I purchased - love them

    Stretchy, Runs Big

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Height: 6'3"
    • Weight: 175lbs

My wife says these are super comfy when you initially try them on, but they run large. That's not always bad, depending on what you're doing, but can be irritating - at least they have a drawstring included to tighten up a bit. Aside from sizing, they are on the easier side for moving around in full pants!

    Has some quirks

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 4
    • Height: 5'7"
    • Weight: 135lbs

There are a lot of things to love when it comes to these pants, but there are also a couple things I hope will be helpful when looking at these pants.

    Pros:

-I love how durable and stretchy the material . Great for non-strenuous hiking and climbing.

    - The zippered thigh pocket makes these pants my favorite for travelling because I can keep my phone, credit card, and ID easily accessible yet secure.

    Cons:

    - They definitely run big, so size down. I like how loose mine fit everywhere except the waist. I have to tie it as tight as I can, causing the material to buckle and bulge a bit

    - Material is not the most breathable

    - Maybe I'm just lazy but the combination of two buttons, a zipper, and a drawstring seems a little excessive

    Has some quirks

    Runs Large!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 2
    • Height: 5'1"
    • Weight: 117lbs

I normally wear a size 4, I have thicker thighs but a smaller waist. I had to return and get a size 2 and even then the waist was a bit too large on me. I got the "short" but I don't think it was really meant for short people, still had to take 3 inches off the end and hem it myself. It is very comfortable, however it is not the most breathable pair of pants. They are very cute though

    Nice fabric, varied sizing

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 0 short
    • Height: 5'0"
    • Weight: 102lbs

I bought this for my wife and these are her thoughts. The good: the weight of the fabric is perfect for multiple seasons, except for summer heat. The bad: I am 5’0”, 102 lbs and kind of muscular, and usually wear a size 2 in Prana. My previous Halle pants in Moonrock were a size 0 short and a great fit. Although the same size, 0 short, my latest purchase of Prada Halle Pants in Equinox Blue are too big, especially in the waist. I guess now I am a size Prada size 00. Unfortunately, these pants will have to be returned. My feeling is that Prada pants vary so much in size, even within the same style, that 2-3 sizes need to be purchased to get the best fit - not unlike fitting climbing shoes. 4 stars for size variability.

Nice pants, but poor quality control...

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I bought 3 pairs of these. The moon rock and cargo green fit great, but the dark khaki were cut as if 1/2 size too small, with an inseam that ran barely 31", not the 32" as advertised. All three were nice colors for hiking. I like the pants and time will tell regarding their longevity, but I won't ever order these unless I can easily return them if there are other issues with manufacturing problems. (These came from China, FYI.) I would expect better quality control from Prana, but appreciated Backcountry's assistance in creating a return for these.

Good balance of relaxed fit & not baggy

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 4/short
    • Height: 5'4"
    • Weight: 120lbs

Finally my search for a pair of pants that fits without giving me awkward creases (you know the ones I mean) is over! I am one of those people that has a LOT of trouble finding pants that fit well - pants that are tight enough around my legs give me awkward lines, and pants that are relaxed enough on my hips look like small tents for my legs. These are a good balance, though I would say that 'relaxed fit' should be emphasized. They are still very loose, but manage to not look baggy and unattractive. The light tan ones are perfect for professional visits out to construction sites, or hiking and camping.

    Halle Prana Pants

This is my second pair of Prana Halle pants. They are very versatile and have become a staple in my closet. These pants have a relaxed fit that makes them extremely comfortable. I am in love with them and I plan to purchase more colors in the future. As others have mentioned they run small. I purchased a size smaller than I usually wear and they fit perfect.

      Prana Overlooks Serious Outdoorswomen

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: 4
      • Height: 5'6"
      • Weight: 138lbs

I teach outdoor education and am an avid hiker, climber, and backpacker. I love Prana and I love the quality of the clothes they make. These pants are no exception with excellent stretch, durability, and soft, comfortable material. Unfortunately, Prana has fallen into the disappointingly stereotypical trap of making insufficient pockets for a pair of women’s pants. I wish I could wear these all the time, but if you are a serious hiker (especially backpackers) or climber these pockets are virtually useless; the tiny front pockets can’t even hold my small folding benchmade pocket knife, and not one pocket can hold my phone. If Prana wants to serve their female outdoor community in a conscientious way- they should really reconsider the design of their most highly recommended hiking pant. Again, I love the material, the fit, and the look- but I can’t in good conscience give this pant 5 stars when the technical aspects of the pants are so sorely lacking. If I can't fit anything useful in the pockets, the point of having pockets is lost on me. I hope somebody at Prana reads this review, because if this problem is solved I would buy my hiking pants exclusively from Prana.

      Prana Overlooks Serious Outdoorswomen

      These are my go-to pants!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: Runs small
      • Size Bought: 8
      • Height: 5'8"
      • Weight: 145lbs

They aren't perfect, but I've never found any that fit or feel better, or that I turn to more frequently. Like other reviewers have mentioned, the drawstring is unnecessary - I cut mine out immediately. I have 2 pairs in 2 colors, and the sizing is different between them, which is annoying (one pair runs big, the Moonrock pair runs small), but regardless - these pants are comfortable, they move with me and stretch and make me look dressed while feeling like I'm still in pajamas. Highly recommend trying them out.

      Best Pants!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: Runs large
      • Size Bought: 4T
      • Height: 6'0"
      • Weight: 140lbs

I’m constantly being asked about thes pants. They are some of my favorites! I love the tall option and they are actually long enough for my 6’0” frame! I have these in all four colors. I feel like they run a little big so I size down. I wear them around town, to teach small group Pilates, to hike, to lounge, long and rolled up.

weird, the khaki color runs a size small

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: Runs small
      • Size Bought: 6
      • Height: 5'3"
      • Weight: 135lbs

this was my 5th pair--- i have two other size 6s and 2 size 8s (for different times of the month obvs). the khaki color fits like a 5 maybe. not good. :( so sad, i love these pants otherwise.

      Nice Pant.

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: 10 but should have been a size 12. Losing weight
      • Height: 5'6"
      • Weight: 166lbs

PROS: I like the way they look, they are stretchy but do not get "stretched out" like jeans with use and the fit is true to size for me.
CONS: As stated in other reviews the tie and button waist is ridiculous, I can see the buttons coming off in my near future and the fabric is a little scratchy but I'm hoping it softens up with use.

      Not a great backpacking pant

      • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
      • Fit: Runs large
      • Size Bought: 6
      • Height: 5'9"
      • Weight: 140lbs

Full disclosure: I purchased these pants specifically for a 4 day 3 night backpacking trip because I LOVE the other Prana pants I own (Kara jean, the Bliss Capri) The pants overall are great, but for the specific purpose of backpacking they fall short.
The quality is excellent - stretchy pants that move with you and durable fabric that can take a beating and some rain. Exactly what one is looking for when backpacking.
However, the waist on these is terrible for use with a backpack and is the main reason for the low rating. There are two buttons AND a drawstring which is tedious and adds for a lot of bulk around the waist belt of the backpack. The rise of the pant is also terribly inconvenient. The top of the pant hits at the same place as the waist belt of a pack so I was forced to either have my pants sit below the waist belt (which resulted in a little too low rise when I took big steps or crouched down - things that happen often when backpacking) or try to pull them up high enough so they sat underneath the waist belt (which was terribly uncomfortable).
With a little higher rise and a more low profile waistband these could very well be the perfect pant for hiking, backpacking, climbing, or even running around a city without looking like you just walked out of the woods.

      Great Fit

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: 4 Short
      • Height: 5'3"
      • Weight: 135lbs

Pants are always my enemy. They are too small in the thighs and way too big in the hips/waist but not these! I have been climbing and hiking in them a few times and am impressed at how durable they are while still letting me move how I need too.

      Nice Pants

The quality and feel of these pants is great. They are super comfortable. I did find that they seem to run big and I should have sized down at least one full size. It also seems like the bottom of the pants is a bit baggier than other hiking pants. Overall, these are very comfortable and the drawstring can be used to help keep the pants up when you forget a belt.

        Great pants

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
        • Fit: Runs small
        • Size Bought: 8 Tall
        • Height: 5'7"
        • Weight: 135lbs

I love the look and feel of the fabric of these pants. I order the tall because I usually require that. I ended up hemming them about 2 inches, so I guess I was between regular and tall. The pants are comfortable and feel great! So happy to add them to my hiking repertoire. I usually wear a size 6, but I think all hiking pants tend to run a little smaller than other pants, so I ordered a size larger and am very happy with the fit.

        Unanswered Question

What model year are these pants, or, do the pictures show the exact model year being sold? I ask because I have a pair from 2ish years ago (most easily descernible by the smaller right thigh pocket) and the pants fit MUCH better than the updated model. I’ve been looking all over for any of the older stock left. Is this it?!

        Unanswered Question

Are these pants close to low rise? In the pictures it looks like they are.

        Unanswered Question

How long is the inseam in a 12 long? And do these truly run big or are they just a baggy fit? My concern is if I size down would they be too tight in the waistband. I'm fit but I'm apple shaped so waistbands are my problem in women's clothing since they tend to be cut smaller in the waist. Any advice on if I should really Size down? For those that did size down, did it make the pant fitted?

Is size 0 only available in Tall? How does the sizing & fit compare to the Kara jean?

        Hey Chelsea,

The fit of the halle is more relaxed compared to the kara. The kara is also a little more vanity sized (runs one size smaller) so I would think that the Halle runs true to size and more relaxed.

        Thanks!

        Kaley
