From the climbing crag to the corner coffee shop, the Prana Women's Halle Pant is designed to tackle just about everything and anything you throw at it—including those emergency board meetings. Love em!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size

Bought these for casual and hiking trips so far; for being outdoors in Alaska they were a great versatile pant for hanging around the campsite to getting dirty to going to the Saturday market. I am 5' 6", 130LB, athletic build and bought a small to later return it for a XS. The pocket on the thigh was perfect for stashing money, chap stick, and other little things that I didn't want to lose in a crowd. They have a very nice look almost classy for town and the material is a little bit of a lighter but perfect for the temperatures I used them for (80's to low 60's).

    Love These!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Easy to clean, durable and figure flattering. These pants definitely make it hard to want to wear anything else. They have survived kid spills, mom spills, hikes, water fights, dogs, horses, mystery toddler spills and long car rides. Will definitely be buying more colors! Fast drying and still make me look like I have my ducks in a row.

    Favorite Pants

These are literally the best pants ever. I wear them on all of my hikes. You can wear them anytime of the year and I usually layer insulating running tights under them in the winter. There aren't any annoying random seams which I've noticed with a lot of technical pants. The short inseam is perfect. I've tried on some long inseam ones thinking I could just hem them up--not the case, they didn't fit at all. I have the coal ones and mood indigo (more of a slate color). I can't say enough good things about these pants!!!

    Awesome pants

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I wear these for climbing outdoors and camping, and they have held up wonderfully. They do stretch out a bit as you wear them, but they go back to their original size after washing. According to the size chart, I should be a 6 or 8, but the 4 fits great. I also have a 6 which is a bit baggy, but not so much so that they're falling off. My only qualm with them is that the buttons for rolling up the pant legs are plastic, so they've gotten worn down on the rocks enough to where they don't stay buttoned... but that could just be because I can get a bit clumsy with my knees while climbing.

    Flattering and Functional

I am a dog trainer, and I have three pairs of these great pants. I wear a 16 short, and they fit me perfectly. I love the feel of the stretchy fabric. I really hate to wear other pants for work now, because they are so comfortable and flattering. I wear them outside during hot weather, and they keep me cool. I wear them during the cold and rainy season and they keep me dry. I have noticed that they shrink a bit in length, but I do put them in the dryer. The front pockets are small for most items, but the back pockets work great for my phone and other tools of my trade. I wear them unrolled, because they keep me cool enough in the longer length. I like the interior waist tie, because it helps keep the pants from sagging as they stretch through out a long day. They have been jumped on by mouthy dogs and slobbered on by drooly dogs and scratched on by long-nailed dogs and even peed on by puppy dogs. They are easy to clean and tough.

    Best pants. Ever.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I am now the happy owner of multiple colors of these lovely pants. I can not stress how well designed they are; from the stretch and articulation, to the versatility (roll-up leg option), to the hidden pockets, and the very important fact that they make your tush look darn good. I can not say that they run large, as other reviewers have, because I have pants from Prana in 3 different sizes. I do recommend that you try them on prior to purchase, if you can. (The same day I got these in 8, I also got a size 6 in another Prana pant--both fit the same). At 5'8" and a 29in inseam, regular length is perfect for me (I wear flip flops at work--yes, I love my job). Love that they fit nearly the same in the afternoon as they do in the morning. Definitely my fav Prana pant style.

I love these pants!! I pretty much haven't taken them off since I got them. They look great for running around town and they're kickass for climbing on cooler days. So so comfy and they give me full range of motion! I've even worn them to do a bit of yoga. They're just a touch too long when I'm barefoot, so I'm considering hemming them (I really like being barefoot!). The string adjustment is awesome too because it means I don't have to wear a belt either! I've also been told my butt looks good in them, so that's a bonus!

    great pants!

I have only worn these twice so far but love them. They are super comfortable. I am 5'5" and ordered a regular but should have ordered a short since they are a little long on me.

Functional pants don't get any cuter!

I admit, I bought these pants mostly based on style! Sure they looked like they function well, but they looked incredibly cute too. They get fabulous reviews on all outdoor websites, so I had to try them. The material is very durable. You can slide across rough rocks and logs with no worries. The fit is great. Although I am 5'5", I ordered them with a short inseam...they are the perfect length. I have a 30" inseam and these pants hit the bottom of my heel. They are very flattering with a boot cut. My only complaint is the pockets. The two front pockets are small and the thigh pocket doesn't fit much other than chapstick or a pack of gum. The back pockets are larger, but I never put anything in my back pockets anyways.

    My second pair!

Excellent pants! I love these pants! I get compliments on the color and the feel! They are unique! The do run large. So size down. Flattering and feel great on! Casual and you can wear them almost anywhere!

    These are perfect. Get them.

This pant is really durable, so you can get down and dirty with no regrets. These aren't too thick for summer hiking and climbing. But, they are not the thinnest summer pant that prAna offers. So, also get the Sage Convertible Pant, if you need a super hot-weather pant.

For sizing, they will be the same as the Kara pant. So, I'm typically a size 4, but in these I am a 2. They fit well, and stay in place.

These have a ton of stretch, for movement, but don't lose their shape. Good for climbing, hiking, and being comfortable. One of my buttons came off, and prAna shipped me 2 new ones in a matter of days. Sweet!!!

    LOVE these pants!! purchased 2

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

    • Size Bought: 2 reg
    • Height: 5'10"
    • Weight: 141lbs

Yes it matters, they are really flattering!! Pants keep their shape after hours and days of hiking, don't get all 'bagged' out and loose. I like my pants to fit snug but these have enough stretch so they are very comfortable! I'm 5'10 141 pounds, I prefer size 2 but size 4 would work too. Reg length is perfect for me...pants are thick enough for winter activities, can't feel the wind they fabric . Lots of pockets! My favorite pants...I reach for them 1st! Got them with 30% off too!!

    The best

    • Size Bought: 0 Long
    • Height: 5'9"

These are the only pants I wear for hiking and climbing- they are awesome! They have outlasted other more expensive climbing pants I've had by a mile. The fabric is lightweight, wicking, stretchy and downright indestructible, and they actually look good- the fit is slim, but the articulated knees and the stretch allow for unfettered movement. They wick sweat well in the summer, and long underwear fits beautifully under them in the winter. I've had my oldest pair for 4 years and they are still going strong, and that's saying a lot for what I put them through. The waist sits a few inches below my belly button, and they do run large- I am generally a 2 in pants but I need the 0 in these, and they are still a bit big. I agree with the previous reviewer about the length- on me, the regular inseam is too short, but the long is too long, and I have to get them hemmed, although it's a small price to pay considering how difficult it is for me to find pants that are long enough. Get these pants- you won't be disappointed!

    Way Too Long

    • Height: 5'2"
    • Weight: 120lbs

Since I live in my Halle shorts all summer I decided to add the pants to my wardrobe. I was so disappointed for they fit nothing like the shorts. Normally I wear a size 0 Halle shorts. For size reference, I'm 5'2" 120 pounds. When I first tried on size 0 Reg I had to double check the label thinking I had mistakenly ordered a Tall inseam. The length was 4 inches too long. The waist was also lower in rise than the Halle shorts I love so much. Rolled up and buttoned they looked ridiculous with the extra material in length. If you are a tall gal and don't mind low cut pants these pants are for you. The material is a little thicker than the shorts and has a slight stretch and is almost indestructible. The knees have wonderful articulation....great for hiking, backpacking, camping. I wish Prada made pants for the petite frame and with a higher rise for us older gals. Took one star off for size discrepancy, otherwise these pants are 5 stars.

    Love, love, LOVE these pants!

I bought these pants in the cargo green and charcoal color because I loved them so much. They are super comfy, breathable and pretty flattering (because we all still secretly care about that on some level, even while we're out hiking and getting dirty and adventuring).
My only wish is that the pockets were a little larger and perhaps, just a little longer for the 'regular' fit. I had also tried the 'tall' fit while at a store and it was way too long, so a nice 'go-between' length would have been great.

Otherwise, I love these pants. I practically lived in them when I was camping/climbing/hiking in the Alabama Hills.

    Great pair of Hiking/climbing pants

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 6 Long/Tall
    • Height: 5'8"
    • Weight: 135lbs

I'm 5'8" and range in weight from 135 to 140 lbs, I have small waist and larger thighs . I bought a 6 Tall/Long in all colors, waist ran large for me but the draw string was able to make them fit comfortably and didn't make them bunch, they are true to size it the thigh area and were a little loose which if you rock climb is great because it allows for movement (which I do out doors often), wore them in 90 degree heat didn't get crazy sweaty and they were easy to get on and off when nature called, also wore them on a cooler day to played recreational softball, I play catcher so lots of squatting very comfortable and didn't have high-waters. I have washed and dried them and they still fit comfortably no length shrinkage. I also wore them to work on casual day and got a lot of positive feed back on the way they looked with a polo.

    Great pant, inconsistent sizing

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Size Bought: 2S
    • Height: 5'2"
    • Weight: 125lbs

I just ordered the Halle pant in 2S in Cargo Green and Dark Khaki. The Khaki pair fits absolutely perfectly! Comfortable and cute, and will be awesome for my trip to Colorado. I agree the pockets are a little bit small as other reviewers said, however, the material, color and cut are terrific. At my height, it can be difficult to find pants that fit well. The Cargo Green, on the other hand, fits way too tight and way too short, not sure why. Backcountry is actually going to let me send them back for free and they are going to send me a 2S and 2R to try with a free return label for the one that doesn't fit right! Great customer service.

The best of the best hiking pant

These pants live up to all the hype! They are so incredibly comfortable and are even cute enough to wear out and around. They're not your typical ugly hiking pants., they're actually cute. They don't rub anywhere and feel like you're wearing pajamas. I'd say they run a little large. I am about 120 lb, and 5' 6

      Stylish and Comfy

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: 8 long
      • Height: 5'11"
      • Weight: 160lbs

I purchased my normal pant size(8) and a size smaller (6) since most people say the pants run large. The smaller size (6) fits me how all the rest of my everyday pants fit me, but I kept the larger size (8) because for hiking pants I want them to be roomy and not form-fitting like I'd want a pair of jeans to be. Just something to think about when choosing your size.
These are really cute and stylish and comfortable, with a good amount of room in the knees for scaling mountains. I plan to buy another pair.
Only downside is the average length is too short and the longs are a bit long.

      Unanswered Question

Are these pants close to low rise? In the pictures it looks like they are.

      Unanswered Question

How long is the inseam in a 12 long? And do these truly run big or are they just a baggy fit? My concern is if I size down would they be too tight in the waistband. I'm fit but I'm apple shaped so waistbands are my problem in women's clothing since they tend to be cut smaller in the waist. Any advice on if I should really Size down? For those that did size down, did it make the pant fitted?

Is size 0 only available in Tall? How does the sizing & fit compare to the Kara jean?

      Hey Chelsea,

The fit of the halle is more relaxed compared to the kara. The kara is also a little more vanity sized (runs one size smaller) so I would think that the Halle runs true to size and more relaxed.

      Thanks!

      Kaley
