Top button is sewn on- probelmatic

I really do love these pants and the length. BUT, second pair I have purchased and both times the top buttons (both of them) have come off. Yes, I fit into the pants. But, if you wear them a lot, those buttons get a lot of use. To have them sewn on is a design flaw. And, once they come off I am not inclined to sew them back on (working mom life). Please reconsider the design!

I have been rockin' Halles for years now. At 6ft tall I was always forced into choosing between wearing high-waters or rolling pants into capris. Then came the Halles. I have worn these on long climbs, long approaches, snowy winter 14ers, hot desert climbing, sticky island hikes, the grocery store, date nights, and even work. They are comfortable in every climate and every activity. There is nothing these pants can't do. All of the colors are to die for and the pockets on the butt are very flattering. The flared leg allows for full range of motion, acts as light gaiters with shoes, and is very figure flattering. And now that there is a tech pant with a 36

I bought 3! I live in these pants

    • Weight: 148lbs

I bought my first pair 3 years ago, and now I have 3: gray, olive, and cocoa (more like brown with a touch of dark beet). Outdoor performance is fab: they have a touch of stretch, they are tough enough for the trail, and that DWR finish makes them great for most 3-season conditions. But best of all, they are comfortable, great-looking with a flattering fit. I'm 5'3, 148 and the 10R is perfect (although I hem 1.5in off the bottom). Drawstring waist means you'll never have awkward gapping at the back and you can make a customized fit. These are a total win!

    Regular length is NOT 32

    • Size Bought: 4 REG
    • Height: 5'8"

The pants seem great, even if they run slightly large -- I would say they just have a bit more room than the typical skin tight Prana pant -- just what you want for hiking or outdoor activities. However, I sent them back because I am 5'8

Perfect fit for short, curvy figure

    • Size Bought: 2 Short
    • Height: 5'2"
    • Weight: 112lbs

I am 5' 2" and anywhere from 108-114 lbs. I also have shorter legs than average, a tiny waist and large hips and thighs. With all those constraints, it is really hard to find well-fitting trousers, but these absolutely fit the bill. I wear the size 2 with the short inseam, and they fit perfectly. Most trousers that fit my hips gape horribly around the waist. These have a drawstring waist, so the excess material just gets cinched right in for a perfect fit. The cut is also incredibly flattering, with just enough room around the thighs so that they are neither tight nor baggy, and a narrowing mid-leg that gives my dumpy legs an attractive, tapered shape. Incredibly versatile and hard-wearing. I have worn them for years and they are my go-to trousers in all weathers and for a wide variety of occasions.

    Favorite. Pants. Ever.

I own 4 pairs of these pants. They are amazing. I have long legs and talls are hard to find. I can actually size down to a 6 in these pants and I’m normally a 6/8. They have taken a beating but have held up for countless hunts and belly crawls through the woods. They are perfectly light enough for our Florida heat. I highly recommend.

Love them but quality is disappointing

My fiancé purchased the similar men’s style from Prana and after seeing his, I just had to have them! Let me begin by saying I love the style of these pants. Exactly what I was looking for. But the quality is not what I expected of Prana. I was disappointed to find the women’s style of these pants are much more poorly made than the men’s. The quality of the material is thinner and cheaper and the seams are already coming undone after only minimal wear. It’s disappointing to find that most brands put more effort into designing their menswear than women’s. Sad that even Prana is a among them.

    Love these

I have these pants in about 6 colors. I love them. They’re lightweight, comfortable and I can wear anywhere. I wear to work, hiking, rock gym, baseball games, around.... I love the fit, colors and how they roll up to capris.

I bought one pair of these pants hoping to find a light casual comfortable pant. I'm familiar with Prana I have two pair of their convertible hiking pants, which I love. When I receive these pants I absolutely loved them and immediately bought three more pair. I'm a size 4 and they fit true to size. I love the drawstring option I often have to cinch in the waist. I was reading another review about this drawstring causing a pucker at the waist, however the drawstring is loose so all you have to do is pull the pant towards the back and it all evens out. I've never written a review before but I love these pants so much I wanted to give them the praise they deserve ! I wear these pants every day . The fabric doesn't stretch out they stay neat and nice from the minute you put them on to the minute you take them off

    Not for Petite Women

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 2P
    • Height: 4'11"
    • Weight: 98lbs

These pants seemed like they were well constructed and would be great for average sized women. I had to return them. Being 4'11", 98lbs, with a 25" inseam, I expected to have to hem these pants, but the knee detail was so far down my leg that cutting a few inches off the bottom wouldn't have made them fit lengthwise. Additionally, they were extremely loose. I'd ordered a 2/Short after looking at the size chart (I have a 26" waist and hips that fluctuate between 35-36"). The 2/Shorts were falling-off-big. I returned these and tracked down a pair of 0 Halle pants in a local store. Even the 0s were too loose and could be pulled down without even unbuttoning them.

Despite what outdoor companies' sizing charts always claim, I have yet to find any hiking pants in a 0/short/petite that actually come close enough to fitting me to warrant the expense. Note to Prana: taking 2" off the bottom of pants isn't enough for petite women. The entire length of the pants' proportions needs to be adjusted (i.e. rise, taper, side pocket positioning, knee details, etc.). Also, if someone is only 2" shorter than average, they can make do with regular length pants by simply hemming them. Please consider making a "short" version of pants with an inseam that is more like 4"+ shorter than normal, enough to actually make a difference for petite women.

I really wish I had seen your review prior to buying mine! I am 5'0" and I ran into the same problem. The knee detail was way off, I had to just improvise and keep it perpetually rolled into capris. Great review BTW!

PrAna hit the nail on the head with these pants - whether its climbing, hiking, yoga, or a casual day, the Halle convertible does it all. The material does two things that are crucial: 1) It's pretty damn warm and wind resistant, and 2) it is water resistant. The Zion blend really kills it in the warmth department, while still keeping it breathable if you're doing something active. The convertible feature is awesome if you're someone who, like me, is either always cold or suffers from random hot flashes. You can roll the pants up to the knee to get the exposed zipper out of the way for a neater shorts look, and the removed bottom legs are easy to pack. This feature is the most convenient for long approaches to the crag or campsite during the day, and when the sun goes down the detachable legs are simple and easy to put back on for warmth and mosquito coverage.

Another great feature is the relaxed fit and stretch of the Zion material -- it allows for a lot of movement if you're doing something active, and fits almost like a sweatpant. The only thing I wasn't stoked on was how large they fit as well as the adjustable drawstring. It's a smart feature, but I don't think it's executed very well. If you tie it too tight, the waist button sticks out harshly and leaves a gap between the pant and your waist.

Otherwise, one of the best and most durable pants ever.

I gave these pants as a gift for my partner. She wasn't too sure about wearing pants that were looser towards the end of the legs, but she loves them. Great for climbing in, and the added drawstring, and capri straps are a great addition.

    Not the best

Nice color, not the best fit - too low slung and the combination of a zipper, two buttons and a drawstring at the waist just is not convenient, it is fussy, & does not work - a snap and a zipper would be sufficient. Wore them once in the house but could not return because I did not have the original tag.......really? !?

      Not the best

It took several tries to find the right size. I started with a 12, then a 10 and finally kept the size 8. I take responsibility for this slight problem because I lost a bunch of weight and had no clue what size I wore. I am currently 5'7" and weight between 133 and 138. I am also 56 years old, which I think makes a difference in how clothing fits. I don't like my clothes tight and usually wear them loose. I took these pants on a barrier island trip and wore them the several days I was there. One night fishing in the cool of the windy moon, one day hiking in the heat of the sun, and the trip home. They were very comfortable!!! Not too hot, not too cold, just right! I am going to order more, now that I know what size I wear, lol.

I gave these to my sister to wear on her backpacking trips. She has multiple pairs and absolutely loves them! She says they are comfortable, breathable, and all around a great pant!

My wife really liked these pants for our trip hiking around New Zealand. The fit worked well for her longer legs. The only problem was that one of the snaps that holds the pants in capri mode broke off, so she had to keep them full length. She would give these 5 stars if they used quality snaps.

      Really nice hiking pants

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: True to size

I am 5'3", 112lbs, hips 36". Size bought 2 Short. Fits perfect. Not too tight, not too loose. Unsure if I would wear them climbing but they are supper stretchy and comfortable. Perfect for hiking.

      Unanswered Question

What model year are these pants, or, do the pictures show the exact model year being sold? I ask because I have a pair from 2ish years ago (most easily descernible by the smaller right thigh pocket) and the pants fit MUCH better than the updated model. I’ve been looking all over for any of the older stock left. Is this it?!

      Unanswered Question

Are these pants close to low rise? In the pictures it looks like they are.

      Unanswered Question

How long is the inseam in a 12 long? And do these truly run big or are they just a baggy fit? My concern is if I size down would they be too tight in the waistband. I'm fit but I'm apple shaped so waistbands are my problem in women's clothing since they tend to be cut smaller in the waist. Any advice on if I should really Size down? For those that did size down, did it make the pant fitted?

Is size 0 only available in Tall? How does the sizing & fit compare to the Kara jean?

      Hey Chelsea,

The fit of the halle is more relaxed compared to the kara. The kara is also a little more vanity sized (runs one size smaller) so I would think that the Halle runs true to size and more relaxed.
