Awesome Pant
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Fit:
- Runs large
- Size Bought
- 28
- Height
- 5` 10"
- Weight
- 141 lbs
I have put this pant through the wringer. When the stretch Zion came out in the straight fit I started wearing those instead. I dislike the bootcut of the Brion unless wearing a chunky Keen boot or a something similar. Not a versatile pant for going from activity to activity where as I find the Zion straight to be seamless in such ways. Prana should offer this pant in the same fit as the Zion straight & current fit to appease a variety of uses.

Great slim cut but fly is short!
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Fit:
- True to size
- Size Bought
- 31 X 34
- Height
- 6` 4"
- Weight
- 165 lbs
Bought these for my husband 2 years ago, and he is 6'4'' and very slim, 165 pounds. He loves them except says the fly is too short because the pants are so low-rise. But the slim fit is very sexy to me, and he likes the stretch in them. He can wear long underwear under them for a winter hike or on their own in the fall/spring. Very flattering for slim guys with a small butt and his legs look nice!

If these pants are slim cut, I am Mother Theresa. The feel and stretch that they have, is awesome. However, I did not want boot cut pants, so they are going back.

Best pants ever

This is my go to pants for everyday and hiking. I love the feel. It moves with you and Is breathable. I took these pants with me on my Everest Base Camp trip and put it through the ringer. It took all the beating of a 3 week trek and then some. I would definitely recommend it.

Good Pants But Not Slim

Overall, solid pants and I am happy with my purchase. They are great for summer bouldering/climbing. I typically don’t wear shorts when I climb and pants in the summer can be hot...these pants are very light and have good breathability. Having said that, they are kind of baggy, not giant and weird looking, but I probably wouldn’t classify them as “slim”. Nonetheless, they are great quality and I would certainly recommend them. Oh yeah, they have a gusseted crotch, if you have never experienced that, it will change your life, trust me!

Super Comfortable!

This is my first pair of Prana. They fit as described in my opinion. They are tight around that thigh and butt but if you have smaller legs it'd probably fit perfect. The stretch is amazing. I can use them for everything.

Prana....definitely NOT slim!
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
- Fit:
- Runs small

I was anxious to try these out as a 5pocket “jean-like” version of the Zion.....jazzed to use them as an easy-care travel pair of trousers. Definitely not slim.....very baggy....even wider legs than my old Zions (from back when Zions were sold with S, M, L and XL waists versus waist measurement in inches). And the length barely made 30 inches versus the advertised 32. At these prices, Prana has no excuse, but what they do have are some quality control issues. So, I returned these, along with a pair of Zion Straights with sizing issues as well. Poor product, however, is no reflection on Backcountry and their great service model.

These seemed to tick the right (Prana) boxes: Stretch Zion fabric, Jeans style, and straight cut. Unfortunately on arrival and try on you are presented with the reality that no, these are not straight or even close to slim. In fact, the Stretch Zion pant straight cut is slimmer than the "slim" cut Brion. It's as though Prana has two different groups with different ideas about Straight and Slim cut. In the attached picture: Left: Levis 511 Center: Brion Right: Prana Stretch Zion Straight Pant.

Awesome feel and quality of materials. Was really hoping these would be slim throughout the leg but the lower leg is more of a boot cut / bell bottom.

I own several zion pants, but this is also a great climbing pants. It doesn’t have the adjuster at the waist, so depending on the size, I recommend zion stretch pants, but this fits perfect for me. Not too tight , not baggy.

As per usual, Prana has a solid pant here in the Brion. They're exactly what I was looking for: a daily pant that's comfortable but also looks nice. I do wish the fit was a little more tailored near the ankles but I usually roll my pants up anyways so problem solved!

I went to my local outdoor store to see if they had any Halle pants but unfortunately they didn’t. They did however have the men’s Brion pants so I decided to try on a pair just to get a feel for the stretch Zion fabric. I was immediately sold on the fabric and to my surprise the Brion pant itself!! They are an awesome high waist option for women and actually have pocket room!! I am so glad I decided to test them out. I ordered 3 pairs as well as the Stretch Zion Straight pants. For reference I am 5’6” and 135lbs and the 30 x 32 fit me just right and you’d never guess they were men’s pants. Like the most comfortable pair of boyfriend pants you will every own.

I recently purchased 3 different brands of travel/packable pants. The Prana Brion is by far the most comfortable pair with a fit closest to what I expect from denim and dress pant sizing. The pants are light enough that I wore them on a road trip to the beach over the summer. Not perfectly wrinkle free and they won't substitute for dress pants but they're super light and comfortable and they seem to resist odor and stains well.

Great Zion fabric in a good looking pant
I have been wearing the Brion shorts and Zion shorts for years. These pants give you the same freedom of movement and versatility but look a bit nicer.

Got my boyfriend a pair of these pants and they look really nice. The best thing about the Brion pant is you get everything in the Brion that you get in a Stretch Zion, except with a bit more style! The fit should be the same as well as material, but the style is unmatched! I really like that Prana has made a pant for the wall, the river, or for even cruising around downtown. Quick dry is a plus as well!

Good Travel Pant - Slightly Disappoited

These are great travel pants. They pack very compactly, and they somehow drop out the wrinkles once you put them on. The material is fairly breathable, and they have good range of motion for hiking, etc. My only disappointment with them is the stitching around the hem. The stitching has "popped" in a couple places around the hem, due to getting stretched as I was putting them on or while wearing them.

I love the Brion Short, but the pants are too tight for folks with large thighs. The fit seems similar to Patagonia's slim fit.

I have two pairs in different colors. I've had them probably 2 years now. Out of all my pants I wear them the most! They have the best fit. The material is light and stretchy. They are soft and comfortable on your skin. They breath really well which is great in warm weather but kind of a downside in the winter. I absolutely love the gusseted crotch, makes the pants fit more naturally and it just screams quality. And lastly they do shed liquid a little bit so small spills or a light drizzle outside the liquid just rolls off but don't expect them to be rain gear. Hope this helps!

My Zion Pants size S are 17inches in waist (laid down flat) - they are perfect - need to find the corresponding size in the Brion Pant.. Please, could someone provide the actual waist measure when the Brion Pants are laid down flat.. Size 30 and 32... Thank you.

If you are looking for the measurements of the leg opening at the bottom of the pant they are - 17 1/4" on the circumference and 8 5/8" on the flat. Hope that helps.

Does anybody else find that the inseam runs long? For example, I am nearly always a 32x32 and even with the pRana WYATT, I wear a 32x32 but the Brion feels like a 31 inseam would be perfect. I'm trying both a 32 and 30 inseam. What's your take?

I have several pairs of these pants and love them. However, I notice that when I want to buy more my size is never available, in the colours I like. Being in Australia I can't try on clothes so I take a risk buying online. What are some brands that offer fitted or slim fit hiking/climbing pants, I hate baggy pants and like the feel of fitted pants with stretch like the brions. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Try Zipravs. They are Korean-made. The ones I got from Amazon fit great and appear to be pretty durable so far....The shipping from Korea was easier for me to get in Alaska than from the lower 48. They also run small. I wear a 30 and ordered a 32 and they are perfect. Good luck!

Adrianna
March 18, 2013
Although the picture makes them look a little slimmer they are a standard fit, just like the Stretch Zion pants. The Brion pant is a blend of the Bronson pant and the Stretch Zion pant. The Brion pant has the same fabric as the Zion but it doesn't have the built in adjustable belt, the roll up leg snaps or the cargo pocket. Like the Bronson, it has the 5 pocket styling with the reinforced rivet details. Essentially streamlining this style to be more of a casual feel but still with the same awesome, super durable fabric of the Zion, that we have all come to know and love. And just a side note, they are also DWR coated :)
