Great feel, closer to boot cut than slim
Awesome feel and quality of materials. Was really hoping these would be slim throughout the leg but the lower leg is more of a boot cut / bell bottom.

Best outdoor pant
Most comfortable outdoor pant I’ve ever tried. I have several pair of the shorts I use for backpacking and working out. Both the pant and the shorts look nice enough to grab dinner or a drink in town afterwords.

Good climbing pants
I own several zion pants, but this is also a great climbing pants. It doesn’t have the adjuster at the waist, so depending on the size, I recommend zion stretch pants, but this fits perfect for me. Not too tight , not baggy.

As per usual, Prana has a solid pant here in the Brion. They're exactly what I was looking for: a daily pant that's comfortable but also looks nice. I do wish the fit was a little more tailored near the ankles but I usually roll my pants up anyways so problem solved!

Works for women too!
I went to my local outdoor store to see if they had any Halle pants but unfortunately they didn’t. They did however have the men’s Brion pants so I decided to try on a pair just to get a feel for the stretch Zion fabric. I was immediately sold on the fabric and to my surprise the Brion pant itself!! They are an awesome high waist option for women and actually have pocket room!! I am so glad I decided to test them out. I ordered 3 pairs as well as the Stretch Zion Straight pants. For reference I am 5’6” and 135lbs and the 30 x 32 fit me just right and you’d never guess they were men’s pants. Like the most comfortable pair of boyfriend pants you will every own.

great fit and feel
I recently purchased 3 different brands of travel/packable pants. The Prana Brion is by far the most comfortable pair with a fit closest to what I expect from denim and dress pant sizing. The pants are light enough that I wore them on a road trip to the beach over the summer. Not perfectly wrinkle free and they won't substitute for dress pants but they're super light and comfortable and they seem to resist odor and stains well.

Great Zion fabric in a good looking pant
I have been wearing the Brion shorts and Zion shorts for years. These pants give you the same freedom of movement and versatility but look a bit nicer.

Got my boyfriend a pair of these pants and they look really nice. The best thing about the Brion pant is you get everything in the Brion that you get in a Stretch Zion, except with a bit more style! The fit should be the same as well as material, but the style is unmatched! I really like that Prana has made a pant for the wall, the river, or for even cruising around downtown. Quick dry is a plus as well!

Good Travel Pant - Slightly Disappoited
These are great travel pants. They pack very compactly, and they somehow drop out the wrinkles once you put them on. The material is fairly breathable, and they have good range of motion for hiking, etc. My only disappointment with them is the stitching around the hem. The stitching has "popped" in a couple places around the hem, due to getting stretched as I was putting them on or while wearing them.

Too tight for larger thighs
I love the Brion Short, but the pants are too tight for folks with large thighs. The fit seems similar to Patagonia's slim fit.

My favorite pants
I have two pairs in different colors. I've had them probably 2 years now. Out of all my pants I wear them the most! They have the best fit. The material is light and stretchy. They are soft and comfortable on your skin. They breath really well which is great in warm weather but kind of a downside in the winter. I absolutely love the gusseted crotch, makes the pants fit more naturally and it just screams quality. And lastly they do shed liquid a little bit so small spills or a light drizzle outside the liquid just rolls off but don't expect them to be rain gear. Hope this helps!

Comfort and function
It’s the Swiss Army knife of pants. Can do it all with stretch and looks to boot! 4 stars cause it’s early but optimistic.

I love these pants. These are my go to hiking pants. Good for tropical places!!!

These pants look classy enough to work in or go to school. They are stretchy enough to climb in and do yoga. They are super comfortable. After you wear these pants, you won't be able to go back to your uncomfortable jeans! I am 6'0 175 and a 32X32 fits me perfect.

These are quality light-weight pants that are good for everyday use and travel. Good fit...maybe slightly on the larger size, but not bad. I've worn and washed them several times (with only a few minutes in the drier to help remove wrinkles) and they're still looking brand new.

Go to pant for everything
The Brion Pant can do it all. Still the best pants I've found for climbing. They are very breathable yet warm. Stretchy enough and they will never restrict movement while climbing. Great for hiking, climbing, or just everyday activities.

I purchased two pair of these pants b/c I had the same version in shorts I bought a few years prior. Loved the fit and wear. The current pant version appears to be thinner, and has to be different (newer) material, but cant say for sure, either way this is not deal killer for me. The real problem is washing these pants. Let me just say this, you know when you go on trip and come back and are missing a piece of clothing you are sure you packed before you left but cant find it; then the next trip you take, you pull out same suitcase and find that item crumpled up in some dark corner of that suitcase? That is what these pants look like every time you pull them our of washing machine and or drier. Your choices are three: wear these seriously wrinkled pants, (which some ok w/), iron them, (chances for me; slim and none) or dry clean, (Perchloroethylene; ouch!). As for washing machine problem, I did find if you wash only a pair of these pants at a time, wrinkling not as bad, but still a waste.

Very nice versatile breathable pants
These are really nice pants, can be worn for nearly everything and they will hardly ever get too hot as they breath really well. They are true to size in the waist. The fit is pretty slim, especially in the thigh. The one negative: I'd like to see them widen the thigh out just a bit to get a more casual look and feel.

My Zion Pants size S are 17inches in waist (laid down flat) - they are perfect - need to find the corresponding size in the Brion Pant.. Please, could someone provide the actual waist measure when the Brion Pants are laid down flat.. Size 30 and 32... Thank you.

what does the bottom cuff measure?
March 6, 2015
If you are looking for the measurements of the leg opening at the bottom of the pant they are - 17 1/4" on the circumference and 8 5/8" on the flat. Hope that helps.

Does anybody else find that the inseam runs long? For example, I am nearly always a 32x32 and even with the pRana WYATT, I wear a 32x32 but the Brion feels like a 31 inseam would be perfect. I'm trying both a 32 and 30 inseam. What's your take?

I have several pairs of these pants and love them. However, I notice that when I want to buy more my size is never available, in the colours I like. Being in Australia I can't try on clothes so I take a risk buying online. What are some brands that offer fitted or slim fit hiking/climbing pants, I hate baggy pants and like the feel of fitted pants with stretch like the brions. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Try Zipravs. They are Korean-made. The ones I got from Amazon fit great and appear to be pretty durable so far....The shipping from Korea was easier for me to get in Alaska than from the lower 48. They also run small. I wear a 30 and ordered a 32 and they are perfect. Good luck!
August 30, 2014
Thanks heaps buddy, believe it or not I have had a few wins with Korean made pants especially dress pants. I will check them out now. Thanks again! UPDATE - I just bought two pairs, they look like exactly what I want, finally!

The inseam length of the prAna Brion Pant should be 31" for the 32" waist.

Are these basically the stretch zion pants...
Are these basically the stretch zion pants but with a slimmer fit?
March 18, 2013
Although the picture makes them look a little slimmer they are a standard fit, just like the Stretch Zion pants. The Brion pant is a blend of the Bronson pant and the Stretch Zion pant. The Brion pant has the same fabric as the Zion but it doesn't have the built in adjustable belt, the roll up leg snaps or the cargo pocket. Like the Bronson, it has the 5 pocket styling with the reinforced rivet details. Essentially streamlining this style to be more of a casual feel but still with the same awesome, super durable fabric of the Zion, that we have all come to know and love. And just a side note, they are also DWR coated :)
