POW for life!

I've used it several times

So I have been skiing since I was 7. In that time, I have tried gloves from tons of different brand, from Kinkos to Marmot, and nothing works - I am always cold. My fingers turn into icicles and become painful. I got to this point that I thought it was just me and I wouldn't find the right glove to keep me warm. So I decided to try some mittens instead. I had the idea in mind but didn't know what to go with. Then one fateful day, POW came to gearhead operations. I got to learn a little bit about how they incorporated Gore-Tex into these mittens and gloves and how it kept out cold. I tried them on and loved them. I then entered my name in the raffle to get a pair, and lo-and-behold, my name got picked! I cannot stress how much these are changing my life. They are so warm, I can finally ski with toasty hands, something I have NEVER been able to do before. I applied the Nikwax leather waterproofing before going out, and it helps keep out any moisture when applied about once a month. The Gore-Tex membrane in the glove keeps out wind, chill, and water. I prefer the cuff over the gauntlet as well because the mittens have no issue going under my jacket sleeves, instead of bulking up around them. I think the one down side about the jade color is the color of the thumb, it will get dirty, but it's really not a big deal at all. All in all, I will never go with another brand, POW has me hooked for life, and I really recommend going with these if you run cold like I do!

Impressed with POW!

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

It's not often I get myself new gloves or mittens, and the gloves and mittens I have had in the past were both larger name brands such as Burton and Dakine. I was super stoked when I discovered that I won these mittens in a raffle at a work event here at Backcountry! I was looking forward to trying out a new brand that I have been beginning to hear more and more about. I have been very impressed with these mittens so far! I have used them since the start of this current season and so far, so great! First, I love how sleek they are yet still very warm. They are very warm for the sleek look and weight which is something that I really like. My other mittens are too big and too warm for standard Wasatch weather. Second, they fit me great and feel like a true small! I have very small hands that are often hard to find a good size glove or mitten in. This gives my thumb some nice dexterity which is a plus. Lastly, the quality of material is impressive. The leather is super soft and has been very water proof so far. I took them out on a deep powder day which entailed multiple falls and digging for skis (slightly embarrassing) but proud to say my gloves and hands stayed toasty warm the whole day! The inside feels like padded velvet and the microfiber thumb is soft against my wind-blown runny nose.

So great!

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

My boyfriend bought me these and I used them for the first time skiing recently. They fit true to size (I usually wear a small in ladies' mittens) and I love the microfiber goggle wipe on the thumb -- VERY handy! No pun intended... They are also very warm. I even wore them on a warmer day and despite my hands sweating a bit, they still stayed nice and toasty. Overall these are great mittens and I look forward to using them for the rest of the season!
