    Full coverage for big mountains.

As mountain bike technology has progressed, we’ve all benefited, and by benefited, we mean that we’ve all gotten a lot faster. Improved suspension, better tires, and stronger wheels all add up to more speed over rougher terrain. One place that hadn’t kept up, until recently, was helmet design, and it’s helmets like POC’s Trabec that have really changed what we look for in a helmet.

It starts with the shape — if there’s nothing there, how can it protect you? The Trabec extends much further down the neck and the sides of your head than other helmets, which means better protection even at the most basic level. POC’s aramid structure inside the foam, which holds the foam together in the event of an impact like rebar in concrete, and the super-tough polycarbonate shell that disperses impact force across the EPS foam to reduce the amount of impact your dome has to handle, are the helmet equivalent of a seven-inch bike you can pedal anywhere.

    • Aramid net inside EPS foam layer
    • Super-tough polycarbonate shell
    • 16 vent holes
    • Adjustable visor
    • Extended protection over typical helmets
    • Adjustable fit system

    Adjustment mechanism needs refinement

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have had this helmet for a couple years. It works alright (though i never really put it to the test). It has excellent ventilation. My main complaint is the ratchet/buckle system that is used to tighten the helmet does not do a very good job staying put. I have had to regularly tighten it as it often loosens a couple clicks. It could be easily loosened by pulling the strap (without using the adjustment buttons). Finally yesterday it gave up the ghost. The ratchet slides freely, and I'm off to find a different helmet. Maybe i got a bad one? I'll probably try a few different brands before i come back to this one.

    Protect ya noggin with style

Poc never fails to please the minimalist style that people wan't. It's important to look good while you ride but, protecting your brain dome is first priority. the Trabec helmet is a perfect option to save a little money while seeking out steez and safety.

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

We've been through 7 or 8 POC helmets in our family, both on and off road. Fit has always been really nice, the construction for safety is excellent. Quality has always been great, never had any issues. Saved us on a few good smacks as well. Definitely would recommend any in the POC family and Trabec is one of the favorites.

Great helmet at a reasonably price point

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Absolutely loving this helmet. The XL fits me perfectly and the visor definitely helps keep the sun out of my eyes. Definitely provides a sense of safety and confidence knowing it’s on my head while riding!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Great style, fits well, extremely light, and most importantly, very safe. I recommend this helmet to everyone riding a bike or anything on wheels. Took a solid hit for gaper day. Thank god for helmets.

      Looks great and high quality

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is a no frills helmet that is designed and manufactured to the highest standards, it is perfectly molded and there’s attention to detail. Protection is ample

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Been using this helmet over the past couple of months and really have enjoyed it. It fits my large head well, but doesn't look particularly large. It's lightweight and comfortable , too. Strongly recommended.

      Solid Choice for a Helmet!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This helmet is perfect! It gives the protection you need, while not being bulky or cutting off your vision. It also has great ventilation so you don't overheat on the uphill. My wife has a pretty small head and the small fits really well.

      Favorite Helmet

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is my 2nd Trabec after replacing my old one due to age. I am partial to the fit of this helmet compared to Giro and Bell. While a little warm in the summer months, its been my staple helmet for MTB and CX for the last 4 seasons.

      Great fitting helmet

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Helmet fits great with easy and quick adjustments. It feels a little bulky but I like the coverage down the back of the head so it's worth it.

      Great Lid!

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I got this helmet for my wife and she is stoked on it. She has a smaller head and loves the fit/look of the helmet. She unfortunately took one sliding crash and the helmet held up well. The visor popped off without damaging the attachment pieces too.

      head saver

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size

Buying our second Trabec in 6 weeks. helmet #1 saved my son in a hard hit on a rock. He wound up with good scrapes and a severely broken wrist along with a broken helmet. But when you can take a fall like that and your head comes out without a scratch you get that helmet again.

Fits very well - My favorite helmet

The fit is the best on any helmet I've ever owned. It is super comfortable and sits on my head very well. It's not too big and I don't even notice it on the trail. I haven't crashed yet, but I am super confident that it will do its job very well. I love this helmet and definitely will be sticking with it for a long time. I would strongly recommend this helmet for trail riders of all kinds.

        Great helmet!

Great mountain biking helmet with easy adjustments and overall comfort. The color is great since it's not stark white, not grey, and not bright blue. Subtle light blue tint is great for a little more of feminine tint.

          Doesn't fit my noggin

          • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
          • Fit: Runs small
          • Size Bought: XS/S

I wanted this helmet to fit so badly but alas it is sometimes hard to find a helmet that works for everyone. Based on my head measurements I got a XS/S but it ended up being way too small and a weird shape for my head. BUMMED!!! The red color is really rad and bright as you can see in the photos Karissa posted below. I think that POC really works well for a lot of people but for me, not the fit I was looking for. I think that this helmet would fit someone with more of a round head much better than me but for now, Ill keep searching for the perfect helmet!

          I love my Trabec!

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've had my Trabec for about a year and a half now, and still love it. It's a comfortable fit, and I really like the style of it, plus it protects your cranium, while you look cool and feel good in it!

Mine is bright blue, which is true to color in the photos.

I really dig the way POC does their helmet sizing in general. As opposed to the S,M,L or S-M, L-XL that a lot of brands run, they offer a M-L, which is perfect for me, as I have an "extra medium" head that needs something in between most medium and large helmets.

          I love my Trabec!

Does this helmet have MIPS technology?

Hey Michael, this helmet will not have MIPS. Helmets that do have incorporated MIPS technology will have it listed in the title or description. If you have any other questions feel free to reach out to me directly via the information listed above.

A coworker who's does a lot of biking recommends your brand helmet. I really like the Trabec and was hoping to purchase right away. My head is 23" exactly. Why does this not come my size. Or what size do you recommend.

          Hey Harry,

Just a quick word of caution, we wouldn't advise you to use this bike helmet for skiing or snowboarding. (Not sure if you meant 'snow goggles' from your question). Because ski and snowboard crashes tend to happen at slower speeds than bike crashes, the helmets are engineered to comply with very different sets of standards.

          Just a heads up there!

Anyone have any issues with glare from the underside of the visor on the white or other light-colored models? I like the white, as it seems like it would be cooler in the So Cal heat, but I'm concerned about glare...

Funny you should mention it... I have just gotten the light blue and on the trail today I noticed the visor more than I ever have noticed a visor on other helmets.

Didn't think of it at the time but all my other helmets have had black visors.

Maybe a little after-market paint modification is in order? ;-)

Can anyone give me the scoop on how these helmets fit... do they run true to size, large or small? I'm at 59.6cm which says xl/xxl... seems big to me. Just curious.

I bought one of these in the Black/Grey in M/L (I wear a medium in most helmets and a 7 1/2 or 7 5/8 in fitted ball caps) and the fit is perfect.

The sizing was initially strange in that there was no S/M or L/XL, but I didn't need those, so no biggie.
