An advanced helmet that anticipates the worst falls on the most rugged terrain.

Since most impacts to the head occur while you ragdoll down a rocky or treed face, the POC Receptor Backcountry Helmet was designed to protect against hard shocks as well as the brain-jostling that happens during high-speed crashes. Thanks to the award-winning MIPS technology, which permits the outer shell and liner to move independently from each other, your vital brain matter doesn’t bang into the inside of your skull during a spill as much as with standard helmets .
    • MIPS tech employs a small plastic piece that breaks during harsh impacts and allows the liner to rotate with your head as the outer shell takes the brunt of the outside forces
    • Tough ABS/PC outer hardshell withstands encounters with rocks and branches, and an integrated PC inner shell further reduces shock
    • Eight vents feature the Aramid penetration barrier, which helps to rid your head of the hot, sweaty air that builds up during a bootpack or short skin but doesn’t allow wind or snow to get inside
    • Multi-impact liner cradles your skull and absorbs most of the force with its molded composite structure
    • Recco reflector integrated into the helmet may help ski patrollers if you get caught in an inbounds slide without your avalanche beacon
