    Demands met.

While some manufacturers seem to think "women-specific" means pink-and-shrink, the women's Multi D Bib Shorts are indicative of POC's insistence on function that meets the demands of uncompromising female athletes. The "bibs" themselves are actually a sleeveless mesh top with a front zipper and full back panel that replaces the decidedly male-centric straps of usual bibs with a bit more support while you're stretched out on the bars.

The four-panel body is also shaped for women, including a higher rear waistband to accommodate for typical women's jerseys, which tend to be shorter and make for coverage gaps. The shorts are made of a warp-knit material that stretches to conform to your movements in the saddle but gently compresses to alleviate the fatigue caused by vibrations over long days in the saddle. POC claims that the shorts also promote circulation through your engine, which helps to keep the fuel pumping and your body primed for the finale.

POC's Multi D chamois also does its part, supplementing a seamless, highly breathable pad with pre-cut VPDS silicone inserts that are strategically placed to dampen vibration without restricting motion or hampering the variable density foam's cooling tendencies. The shorts are finished with a radio pocket, a low-profile silicone leg gripper, and reflective elements on the back to help keep you visible in low-light conditions.

    Didn't love the vest

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: M
    • Height: 5'6"
    • Weight: 135lbs

I prefer bibs that have suspender-like straps rather than the vest, which to me always feels like "too much fabric". But I gave these a try anyway because the price was so good and because I had already tried and returned the POC Multi D Aerofoil Bib Short (which have the suspender construction but are very weirdly positioned). Unfortunately I hated the vest aspect of these too. The fabric against the small of my back felt sticky and hot (I admit this is my weird thing) but more importantly, the vest was constructed with big open spaces from the armpits down. Like, the vest was only in the front and was really low cut on the sides. This made my boobs squish in a weird way, actually the same way that the POC Multi D Aerofoil Bib Short did (those had suspenders but likewise were positioned too much "in front" so my boobs were squished to the sides). The vest also felt too tight in the vertical direction, so my shoulders felt pulled down. I am 5'6.5" with a long-ish torso so probably many riders would not have this problem.

However they were great from the waist down. Despite having a narrow, sticky-grippy band (which I also try to avoid) on the inside of the leg hem, they gave minimal sausage leg. They looked great and they were a little on the longish side for women's shorts, which I also love.

I would recommend this garment for women who generally like the vest vs suspenders construction, aren't super long-waisted, and either have a small chest or have found some other solution bibs n breasts conundrum.

    Another win for taller women.

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

At 5'9" and 145lbs, most bibs that my wife tries either dig into her shoulders if she orders by waist size, or are too big in the seat if she sizes up. However, the Multi-D bibs manage to avoid both unpleasant extremes and accommodate taller women. We ordered both M and L for her, and while the M was a tolerable race fit, she opted for the comfort of the L.

    True to size

I disagree with the other reviewer's assertion that these bibs run large. I am 5'-4" 119 lb 34" hips and thick muscular legs. I took this reviewers advise an orders XS. Big mistake. So I reordered a S (which is my typical size) and they fit perfect. Love the shorts, good inseam length, padding and seaming.

Would be perfect but they're huge

Quality wise, the fabric, chamois, and construction on these bib shorts is far superior to Assos lady's shorts and every other brand I've owned (Castelli, Giordana, Velocio). These compression and thickness of the short is superior to all of the aforementioned brands; these would be great shorts for racing or riding. Problem is they run large. I am 5'4 and hourglass shaped (25 inch waist, 37 inch booty) with muscular quads. The size small was very large on me. I think you'd have to be at least 5'8 for these bibs to work.
