Rainier 27.2 IR Dropper Seatpost

PNW components brings us all into the modern era of mountain biking with the PNW Rainier 27.2 Dropper Post with internal routing. With 105mm of infinitely adjustable travel, clean internal cable routing, and a much more pocket friendly price tag, it's no wonder the Rainier is picking up steam.

PNW's designers engineered the Rainier with the rider's best interests in mind. It hosts 105mm of travel, which while shorter than the lofty 150mm's we see on the market, it's plenty of space for dropping your post and getting behind the saddle on descents. Shorter travel droppers also pair much better with bikes that have a smaller, 27.2mm seatpost diameter than their longer brothers' do, which can end up feeling a bit flexy underneath rider weight. Because the post sits at a full 400mm in length, you should be able to find plenty of adjustability for getting your saddle height dialed for the ride.

Comfort when adjusting your dropper post just may be one of the most important factors that comes to play when selecting a new dropper post, but is often a second thought. How often do we really want to adjust our saddle height when the remote is flat out uncomfortable to use? Hitting your remote should feel comfortable and second nature, and the engineers at PNW have redesigned their lever with that in mind. It has a slimmer profile than previously used, and thumb real estate has been increased making it easy to stay in contact with the remote, so actuation can be executed with little more thought than "I think I want my saddle lower now."

One of the most common question that people have about droppers is whether or not there is play in the saddle. Once again, the engineers at PNW have thought it through, adding a keyed slider system to the post. The stanchion is fitted with brass keys that fit securely into the slotted lower, so while the dropper post has infinite adjustability from top to bottom, it won't end up sideways after you take a wicked digger on the rock garden.
