Meh. It’s hard, but it’s solid.
If you like “push-pull” caps, then it’s fantastic. No leaks holds strong, etc. I wish Platypus would produce a “surge” style cap (like polar bottle) - that would be perfect on the soft bottle

Shipped late because the company
Shipped late because the company is too cheap to hire proper help despite being able to afford to do so.

No leaks! (some user error scenarios described)
Was concerned about the reviews about leaking caps, but got them anyways... no issues with proper use. I suspect the leakage reviews may be due to user error... it's easy to push the valve closed 90% of the way thinking it's 100% closed, but you just need to make sure it is 100% down and closed for a leak proof seal. Another user error might be if you use the clear cap to push the valve down and closed... this is a mistake since pushing the valve with the cap down will not fully seat the valve, you must push the valve all the way down first and then put on the clear cap, there will be a slight gap between the closed valve and the clear cap. If that gap isn't there then obviously there will be leakage since the valve is not fully seated. That's my experience, hope this helps others!

Easy to adapt any bottled water
Since talking rain doesn't make the good water bottles anymore I need something to replace the top on what other brands use. Something that I can open on the move with my mouth. The push-pull cap does the trick. Reliable and easy to use. what else do you need?

This cap wasn't designed specifically to Platypus Bottles
This Push and pull caps are not designed specifically for Platypus bottles. The water pours by the gap that exists in between the cap and the bottle mouth. The cap should be longer in order to cover all the water bottle mouth avoiding dripping. Was a waste of money.

Disappointed
Just bought these caps and tried them on the Platy Bottle. They won't screw on as tight as the original cap and take very little force to cause them to loosen. Seem very likely to have unexpected leaks. I bought two packs of two and all four have the same problem. I have two Platy Bottles and both original caps do a much better job of tightening securely.
