Great job
A really key piece of equipment!! Did the West Coast Trail and this worked well to filter lots of water in a short period of time. I appreciate the ease of use and simple setup.

Great simple filter system
I've used this system for two trips now. Super lightweight, fits nicely into a pack. When it's working it is super fast, filters directly into my 1L nalgene bottle, or into my platy bladder. Love the different lid systems that come with it. It does require that the dirty reservoir is positioned high above the clean reservoir you're using. And, keep an eye on it, it sometimes needs a little back-flush in the middle of a filter. But when it goes, it goes super fast.

Filter slowed to a drip
Used on three camping trips this summer. Worked for the first one great, by the third it slowed to a drip. Even after back-flushing several gal.

When having trouble, just follow the directions!
This thing is great. People who have trouble and think it is clogged after just a few trips and some storage are not doing the ""2.) Blow air and check."" Thing. I just got back from a trip where it was working very slowly, drop by drip. And after repeated back flushes, still just a trickle and it would slow to a drip again. I just got home and followed the directions which are printed on the storage bag, ""Blow air and check."" And it works as great as ever. I should have read the directions when I was in the high country. What a dummy I am.

Lasts a long time and still very fast
I've been using the same filter for 6 years and it still filters extremely fast! I lived in Alaska and ran quite a bit of glacial silt water through it and I am still getting clear water through it at impressive speed. I usually never do any backflushing but recently did and the back flushed water looked like mud but provided clean water out the bottom. I will be replacing the filter now. I don't know why others are having problems unless they are filtering actual mud or don't realize how important it is to elevate the dirty bag as high as you can so gravity actually works for you. I only wish they would make an adapter that is the platypus bottle cap with a hose barb on it so I don't need to carry a sip cap with the sip cap adapter. Right now I just dangle the bare hose end into the bottle.

Excellent filter system
I love the speed of this system and the bottle attachment options. The only thing missing is a male quick connect to plug into the female quick connect on my Big Zip.

Never
Bought this product two years ago; it worked great the first time! Second time I took it backpacking it failed completely - wouldn't even drip; really had to use my iodine tabs. Sent back to manufacturer and they ran testing on it and returned it working fine. Third time backpacking and it drips so SLOWLY. Drip by drip. Would never recommend this product.

Great while it lasted
I've run into the same problem as others. The system was awesome for the time I've had it, and I cared for it as instructed, but on my last overnighter water would not flow through the filter. I haven't used it enough to justify getting a new one.

Extremely slow after one season
This filter was fantastic the first year we used it. 2L water filtered in 2 minutes as advertised. Backflushed it and allowed to dry before storage. This summer it has slowed down significantly. Often taking up to 30 minutes to filter 2L I'd back flush it twice a day and it was better initially, then would slow down again to 30 minutes for 2L. Is this normal?
