Why We Like The Pivot Switchblade Pro X0 Transmission Carbon Wheel Mountain Bike
From light enduro riding to aggressive trail riding, the Switchblade was designed to do it all and is a nimble and versatile mid-travel 29er that has an insatiable desire for flow trails and technical singletrack. The 142mm of travel backed by the renowned DW-Link suspension system, dual 29-inch wheels, and a lightweight carbon frame make for a bike that is exceptionally capable and is our weapon of choice for technical singletrack. The Switchblade's modest geometry lands in that golden zone that is still perfectly capable of sending it off drops and down steep chutes as it is cruising on the singletrack and fire roads, and the climbing characteristics are second to none with an efficient 76-degree seat tube angle to put us in that perfectly centered position for climbing. Additional features on the Switchblade include a flip chip that allows us to slacken out the head tube angle and drop the bottom bracket height for extra control on steep terrain and fast speeds. Integrated downtube and chainstay protectors protect our frame from rocks and chain slaps, while the front triangle can accommodate two water bottle cages to keep us hydrated.
The Pro X0 transmission Carbon Wheel build of the Pivot Switchblade features high-level components, an upgraded wheelset, and an electronic drivetrain to take our performance to the next level. First up, Pivot's lightweight carbon fiber frame uses premium materials to give us the lightest and most durable frame possible. Next, the Fox Factory Float X rear shock keeps us under control in the rear and comes with a 2-position compression switch, which we can use to set up the shock for more efficient climbing. The Fox Factory Float 36, 160mm fork, handles the big hits up front and has tons of compression and rebound adjustments so we can tune our fork to our riding style. Top-of-the-line DT Swiss XMC1501 carbon rims absorb vibration and stiffen up our ride while dropping the weight for enhanced performance, and DT Swiss 240 hubs give us premium performance. To wrap it all together, the Switchblade is fitted with Maxxis DHF and DHRII tires to give us the traction and grip we need for aggressive riding.
*Due to a high demand in the global supply chain and bike industry since the start of the pandemic, material weight and exact components are subject to change. We are working diligently to keep tech specs updated, and any adjustments will be of equal or better spec level.
