The Shadowcat Pro XT/XTR Live Valve Mountain Bike combines the unique advantages of 27.5in wheels with a truly incredible combination of suspension technologies. Pivot’s mid-travel machine is ready for trail bike duties thanks to its especially nimble and maneuverable feel, which lends itself well to jib-focused riders who really like to get playful, or for smaller riders who prefer the intuitive cornering feel of 27.5in wheels. We love how the DW-Link suspension design tracks effortlessly through uneven terrain, whether squirming up steep punches on loose fire roads or pinning corners through desert chunk. The 65.8-degree head tube angle places this bike on the steeper side of modern trail bikes, favoring agility for navigating tight switchbacks over straight-lining stability.

This Pro XT/XTR Live Valve build offers the futuristic trail-taming technology from Fox that literally lets your bike shape to the terrain it’s on. Live Valve utilizes electronic sensors to monitor the terrain through the bike’s suspension 1000 times per second, and automatically stiffen or soften the shock and fork to negotiate the terrain at hand. Shimano handles the bike’s shifting and braking with a hybrid pairing of XT and XTR components for reliable shifting and instant stopping power. XM1700 aluminum wheels from DT Swiss provide dampening qualities and robust durability for aggressive riders, without the added cost of carbon.
