Bluetooth Left Arm Power Meter Installation Kit for Consumer Supplied Cranks
We know dual-leg power measurement is the gold standard for obtaining the best data and range of metrics possible, but sometimes we don't quite have it in our budget to swing that. If you already own a Shimano Dura-Ace 9100 or Ultegra R8000 crankset, Pioneer gives cyclists an affordable way to gather precious power data with its Bluetooth Left Arm Power Meter Installation Kit for Consumer Supplied Cranks. Just purchase this kit and send in your Shimano Dura-Ace, or Ultegra left crank arm to Pioneer and it'll keep you updated during the installation process and ship your completed power meter crankarm back in 5 to 7 business days. Once back, you'll get the knowledge of single leg power readings to take your training to the next level without spending more money than you have to. If you do decide to make the jump to dual-leg in the future, you're able to add Pioneer's drive side upgrade kit offering the full complement of power metrics.
This system uses strain gauges to measure pedaling force, direction, and overall efficiency as you ride, and it's right on par with industry standards at +/-2% accuracy. The power meter unit has a sleek profile on the inside of the crank arm, and only adds a minimal amount of grams. As you pedal, the sensors capture, with precision and accuracy, force detection at 12 locations at almost 200 times per rotation. By recording information at multiple points, Pioneer is able to deliver a single accurate measurement that takes the entire pedal stroke into consideration.
Riding through significant temperature or elevation fluctuations can wreak havoc on power meter accuracy if it's not able to acclimate on the go. Pioneer knows how frustrating it is to have to re-zero your device on-course, and how tough it is to recover momentum lost while you freewheel to let the unit zero. To address this common problem, it developed Zero Point Calibration with Active Temperature Memory Adjustment for its power meters. Essentially, the technology allows the power meter to anticipate and adapt quickly to environmental changes so that you don't lose access to accurate data when you need it most.
The power meter is compatible with ANT+ and now Bluetooth head units and phones, which makes using it with your favorite fitness apps or other ANT+ and Bluetooth compatible devices simple. To further analyze each of the 12 force vectors individually and gain access to Pioneer's new HDPower Metrics and Cyclo Sphere program, you can add the Pioneer cycling computer to your setup.
Finally, it's important to note that the Pioneer Bluetooth Left Arm Power Meter Installation Kit for Consumer Supplied Cranks is actually just a box. The real magic happens once you drop your crank arm in and ship it off to Pioneer, where the power meter gets installed and returned to your door ready to start cranking out the watts.
