Because one without the other is useless.
The Petzl Unireverso Belay Device connects the Reverso belay device with the Attache locking carabiner because they should never be separated. The Unireverso excels in a myriad of climbing walls, whether you're climbing with a single rope at the crag or a twin rope on a big wall. The Reverso allows you to belay two followers from the anchors in an auto-locked mode for extra security.

- Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
This is the first belay device I've seen that permanently attaches to the locking carabiner. No more cold sweats when cleaning a route, knowing full well you won't be dropping the device.
Does what I'd asked
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Ok, let's be straight - I knew when I hung this off my harness it would scream "newb". I dropped an ATC while doing a re-direct at a set of anchors this past summer. Admittedly, it was the only one I've EVER pitched. Most days at the crag I only use my ATC to rap with and so the idea of binding the biner to the device seemed reasonable, and it has been. I fully realize that good gear management reduces the drop potential and in combination with this Unireverso it brings the likelihood even lower. Setting up for a rap is cake, even with a double. In all belay modes the device functions well.
