Petzl designed the Spatha Knife to specifically address a climber's needs. This combo blade easily cuts through ropes and cordellette when you need to make an emergency anchor, and it slices through meats and cheeses if you're camping by the crag. A CariTool carabiner attachment lets you clip this knife to harnesses, backpacks, and placements in case your second needs it. A notch in the blade with a textured wheel provides a one-handed opening if your other hand is busy keeping you on the wall, and a locking mechanism helps you not cut your fingers off.
- Smooth, straight combo blade

Okay knife, expensive
Works fine as a knife, locks open, serration is great for cutting cords, lightweight. Kind of bulky on the harness, feels cheaply made, expensive doesn’t open one-handed. If you want a knife that disappears on your harness get something like the Trango piranha or one of the small CRKT folders which can be stored in the ice clipper slots. The Pretzl knife requires its own carabiner which negates any weight savings the plastic handle provide, and it takes up room on your harness. Works best clipped to your haul loop.

This knife is a solid and lightweight knife, good to keep on hand while climbing routes or doing any outdoor activity, really.

Rookie needed knife
Was heading up on my first alpine trip and was going over the essentials I didn't have. Based on researching having a rope knife was near the top. I bought this guy because it's from a brand I trust, was a good lightweight product, and had excellent reviews. First trip and I needed it because we got off route on the descent and got cliffed-out with the sun setting. Felt like an idiot but glad I had a rope knife and some quick links.

Solid Backpacking Knife
I needed a really light knife to save weight while backpacking, so I didn't need anything fancy. Just wanted lightweight, good build quality, and good price. I've only used this knife a few times, but so far it seems really solid for how lightweight it is, and it should serve me well for backpacking trips to come!

Bought this for my husband because I secretly wanted to play with/steal this! Its SUPER light weight I was really surprised. It's really sharp although I haven't tested cutting through any rope yet. I didn't find it difficult to open at all. If anything it was a little difficult to close. It would be nice it there was somewhere on the side to grip to give you a little leverage when you're trying to shut the blade. Over all pretty happy with this!

The blade is awesome, I love the carabiner attachment, it's really light, the only thing is that it's hard to pull the blade out with none hand, I wish it would slide out easier. Other than that, I like it, I trust.this knife, and it's also easy to sharpen if needed.

nice attachment, hard to open
easy to attach to a belt, but hard to open w one hand. i might try oiling it but with the number of ez open blades out there.. i might consider a different knife and just use the lanyard ring to attach it. nice blade at least.
